Stayed in this hotel last year and returned on 22nd February 2013.
Friendly staff, wonderful position.
Top floor room with an "alley view" of the lagoon
No shower but the bath had a shower hose and head
Breakfast busy and a little chaotic.
Would stay there again

Room Tip: Room on top floor (403)

Savoia and Jolanda on St. Marks Basin was a perfect choice. Very close to St. Marks Square and right at a Vaporetto stop so the minimum luggage-schlepping. Room very nice, quiet and clean with windows onto a side street. The included breakfast was completely satisfactory with excellent cappuccino. Very easy to get anywhere in Venice from here. Cruise the entire Grand Canal on Vaporetto or get pleasantly lost in the quiet back streets and stop for a glass of wine at an Enoteca. The diffused sunlight of Venice setting on San Giorgio across the basin is a sight not to be missed.

We paid extra for a lagoon-view room and it was worth every penny. Our room was 104. It was in the middle of the first floor, and had amazing views across the lagoon to St George's. We had a lovely, comfortable four poster bed and a small but very well appointed bathroom with a great shower. The room was spotlessly clean and the maid service was excellent. The hotel surpassed all expectations and was the best choice in terms of location. It was a little bit noisy at times in the night, being so close to the vaporetto stop, but the metal shutters cut out most noise. It also meant getting to the hotel from Marco Polo airport was very easy - the Alilaguna boat service drops off at the San Zaccharia stop, just steps from the hotel.

Breakfast was good and provided a range of options. It's worth getting there before 9am though, as later on they run out of some things!

Room Tip: Pay the extra to have a lagoon view - it's well worth it! Hotels.com offer great discounts on a...

I had done alot of research and stumbled across this hotel. It is literally less than 5 minutes walk from St Marks square, and directly opposite the San Zaccaria vaporetto waterbus stop. I paid the extra for the deluxe junior suite which was worth every penny. The hotel staff decorated the room with rose petals and gave us a complimentary bottle of prosecco and heart chocolates which was a beautiful touch. We were in room 403 which had a massive round bed and a jacuzzi bath, making the stay that bit more special. The breakfast is more than adequate despite what some of the reviews say. You get the general european breakfast alongside as much hot scrambled egg and bacon as you want. The hotel is in the perfect position to walk to all of the main attractions in venice (as long as you have a map so you dont get lost!) and i cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. Hans is an absolute legend along with the rest of the staff who were all very helpful considering alot of the people can be very rude in venice. Anyone thinking of going to this hotel should definitely try it and i recommend to pay the extra for the suites as you wont be dissapointed!

The location of the Hotel Savoia & Jolanda is amazing. 2 minute walk to St Marks Square, five minute walk to the rialto and the ferry stop out the front will take you to the bus / train station in 20 minutes. Luigi at the front desk was very welcoming, helpful and friendly. The rooms are elegantly furnished and the restaurant is very good also. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

An amazing hotel!! Right on the Main Lagoon with vaporetto stop at front door!! The welcome from reception was great, from the time we checked in until Riccardo took us up to the room.
WHAT A ROOM!!! The furnishings were "belle epoque", tasteful blue and gold, spa in bathroom, room to move, full length sofa as well as double bed, desk and heaps of wardrobe space.
WAIT 'TIL YOU GO TO THE WINDOW, OPEN IT, AND STEP OUT ONTO THE BALCONY!!!!
You will think you have died and gone to heaven!!! Before you is a spectacular view of Venice and its Grand Lagoon. The colour, noise, activity and wonderful smell of Italian food, is everything you always imagined. The hotel has great dining areas both inside and outside. Breakfast is wonderful but the dinner menu could be improved. Venice has millions of tourists all year round, so don't expect easy access in the streets and on the bridges. The hotel is a haven after a day out. Walking around the corner and at the back of hotel, you find smaller restaurants/bistros, so there's no shortage of places to go. Once you get the feel of it, it's not difficult getting around and the hotel is only minutes from Piazza San Marco.

Room Tip: Ask about "lagoon view" before you book, keep an eye out for "specials" on websi...
