“Good hotel and Good location.”
Reviewed July 5, 2011

I visited the hotel and I have been very happy with my visit, the location of the hotel is very good just minutes from Venice main attractions, with a very nice view, some of the rooms have a delightful view, the staff is very friendly, they have a restaurant where you can take breakfast (that was included) inside or "al fresco". They gave us the biggest suite of the hotel and the view was excellent. Other rooms also have balcony and nice views. Rooms are well equipped, and have a venetian style.
A very good option in Venice and it is located in front of the alilaguna stop, so it makes it really convenient. Very near of St. Mark's Square.

Room Tip: Rooms that are in front of the water with balconies and great views.

Very quaint old Venetian style hotel with wood beam ceilings and lots of red and gold colouring. The room for the three of us (two adults and one child) was spacious and the single bed was comfortable and not a roll away as we feared. The view was of the side alley and it was OK but we would have loved a view over the water. The bathroom was enormous! The breakfasts are OK nothing to write home about but not bad either and the setting overlooking the waterfront is fantastic. Front counter service is good and professional. We did have some problems obtaining a water taxi from the hotel (the stop is just outside) to the departure dock for our ferry to Corfu but the front counter staff continued to persist on our behalf. No hotel in Venice is cheap so I think this is probably value for money but is pretty pricy just like all the rest. The location just down from St Marks etc was brilliant. Lots of transport at your doorstep. A word about the food in Venice - while it is OK it is not cheap by Italian standards and the portions are not generous probably because of having to bring everything in by water. We were spoilt by staying just prior to this on the Amalfi Coast where the food was superb and a bit cheaper.

Room Tip: Ask for water view if possible

Myself, my Husband and 8 close friends recenty stayed at the Savoia and Jolanda Hotel before we joined the Voyager of Sea's for a Cruise around Adriatic coast. We arrived by private water taxi and walked across to the Hotel and went to check in, Eight of us were booked on one booking and the two were on a separate booking but the receptionist kindly made sure that we were all together in the same building as there are two parts to the Hotel and two were due to stay in the old building and the rest of us were booked into the new part which was just behind the Savoia with all of our rooms overlooking a little square with a Church in it. The Recepionist said there would be a mixture of different types of room but he wasn't going to choose who went into what room but we were all really pleased with our rooms and what was lovely that two of our friends had not been on holiday for 25 years and they were upgraded to a Junior Suite so it was a lovely way for them to start there holiday. We all met up the folowing morning for breakfast , although we checked out after breakfast they let us leave our luggage there for the morning and even offered a free trip to the Murano Glass Factory which was really nice. The Breakfast consisted of the usual croissants, bread, pastries, fruit yogurts cold meats, eggs, bacon etc and fresh coffee or tea. The location of the hotel was perfect not far from St Marks Square and almost along side the Bridge of Sighs and The Hotel Danieli , we would definately stay at the Savoia and Jolana again.

Stayed here for 2 nights while exploring Venice and could not have found a better location in the city to use as a base. The hotel is 2 minutes walk from St Mark's Square and right next to the vaporetto piers for numbers 1 & 2 (among others). The front of the hotel looks right across the lagoon towards Cipriani and is more or less at the entrance to the Grand Canal, which provided lots of opportunity for people watching over a lovely cup of Italian coffee.
Room was very clean and a good size with very efficient air con. The furnishings in the room were of a high standard and reasonably 'plush' compared to some more simple ones in Italy.
Breakfast was of a very good standard with a good choice of food and hot drinks available.
Probably wouldn't suggest eating at the restaurant during the day (or indeed any of the others nearby) as they all seemed very pricey (even for Venice!) for what you got, it also seems to attract lots of daytrippers from coaches/cruises, which is possibly why it is quite so pricey.
Check out backstreets and small piazzas in Venice for good places to eat, we were recommended 'Bandierette' on Barbaria delle Tole. It is about 15 mins pleasant walk north of the hotel and serves great local seafood at very good prices. (Menu of the day was less than 50 Euros for two including wine.)

My daughter and I spent 2 nights here as part of a graduation trip. The hotel was very easy to get to from the train station via ferry. The stop is right outside the hotel so this makes it very convenient when travelling with luggage. The staff was very helpful in getting us oriented and making suggestions. We stayed in a junior suite overlooking the canal with a beautiful view. We enjoyed our complimentary Prosecco people watching from the balcony before dinner. It was conveniently located for sight-seeing and shopping. Would definitely stay here again. Complimentary breakfast was also very good with outdoor seating perfect to watch the early morning hustle and bustle.

What a great location! Overlooking the Grand Canal and in the middle of everything! Breakfast in the outdoor cafe was wonderful and the staff was very helpful. The room was lovely, though rather small and dark. No view whatsoever! The bathroom was the real weak point: it was a small and dated. Also, the power for the hotel went out for a few minutes one evening, and that was scary. Overall, we liked the hotel a lot--it was full of character and you can't beat the location.

On my recent trip to Venice I managed to book this hotel in combination with my British Airways flight, which provided me with a discount on www.ba.com The hotel's location is great, just off St Marco's Square and on the canal and the price was reasonable when compared what other good hotels were charging per night in this somewhat expensive city. The staff were very helpful and the room, though reltively small was sufficiently large to be comfortable. The bed and pillows were decent as well, which allowed us a good nights sleep. The only down side is that this hotel still feels that it's necessary to charge for internet, which I think is sooooooo passe.
