“Nice rooms, close to train station”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 7, 2014

We really enjoyed staying at Hotel Olimpia. Its' a short walk from the train station. No waiting for a water taxi. You do have to cross a few bridges though. My husband and I only had backpacks and wheeled carryons and we had no troublle! Plently of restaurants and shops nearby. We were able to check in early and the staff was very helpful. Room was nicely furnished with venetian decor. Bathroom was very modern, a little on the small side but thats typical in Europe. Our room had a courtyard view and it was very peaceful. Breakfast had a big selection and the service was wonderful! It was nice to sit down and have someone offer beverages like coffee and teas. I found most of the Italian coffees to be too strong but she brought me hot chocolate and it hit the spot! It is a bit of a walk to get to the main square but the scenery is so beautiful, you hardly notice.

The best accommodation ever!!! Right on the canals, the room was beautiful, bathroom really modern and the hotel was really close to the train station. The breakfast included in the room fee was huge and catered for all our tastes. The staff were friendly and very helpful. Would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Venice. Brilliant!!!! Will definitely stay there again.

We enjoyed our stay at the Olimpia. Conveniently located to the main bus terminal so it makes arriving in Venice somewhat convenient. Withing walking distance from the terminal. The staff is very helpful and informative. Their restaurant recommendations were very good. The room was attractive with your typical Venetian furniture which added the charm and we had a triple room which was a small suite which made it very comfortable and spacious. Our room overlooked the canal and the noise level was acceptable. We could not complain that there was noise. It might be noisier during the warmer summer months. The bathrooms were updated and clean and we had daily housekeeping with clean towels. I would stay at this property again if visiting Venice. You may have to walk a bit to the main attractions such as St Marks Square but Venice is the most beautiful city in the world so that in itself is the treat. The breakfast is very good, eggs, bacon, cold meats, cheeses, yogurt, cereals, canned and fresh fruit, coffee, and juices. The staff in the dining room were very nice and very accommodating.
This hotel is also within close walking distance to the train station. One word of advice is travel light as Venice has many bridges and wheeling your luggage can be somewhat difficult.

Stayed for five nights in mid December. As we were to arrive in the evening one of the key criteria was location and ease of finding it; we also planned a couple of train trips from Venice so somewhere close to Piazzale Roma fitted the bill. Also really good to explore the Dorsoduro area and not too far to walk to other areas. Hotel looks on to a small canal at the front and there is a nice garden to the rear which must be nice in warmer weather. Our room was in the annexe - just through the garden and was really nice and comfortable. Breakfast was taken in a bright room and was really good quality. Staff were all very helpful. I stay at a lot of the chain hotels in the UK and this was so much nicer. A good price too although it was in low season.

Referred by a friend who stayed here previously - great recommendation! Within walking distance of the train and bus stations. Easy to get to the cruise port. The interior courtyard is beautiful and the included breakfast was the best we had in Italy. The room was a bit small, but we spent most of our time exploring Venice. Terrific value and convenient location. Would stay here again.

Spent 3 nights last weekend in Venice, pleasantly surprised by this little hotel. Conveniently located and sharing a twin room cost £117 for the entire time with breakfast included. Granted it is low season and Venice was pretty cold and foggy, it was cheap for Venice!

Handy enough to get to, with a major bus stop nearby, plus train station and of course, water taxis and buses. Cost €40 one way in a taxi from the airport.

The room was clean, adequate and warm enough in the cold weather. My room must have been newly refurbished with a whole new en suite/shower room. Each room has a safe built in and Wi-fi was completely free.

I guess this place will charge a lot more in the summer but it was a good weekend's stay.

Room Tip: Ask for a newly refurbished one
