The Metropole has a fantastic location just a few steps from St. Marks square and right on the waterfront. It has older style but somehow still manages to feel contemporary and up to date.
The dark but stylish interior is a fabulous retreat after a day spent in hectic, but beautiful Venice.
The bedroom I was given was very, very small. Barely enough room for one yet alone two. I had requested twin beds as I was with a friend but when they were pulled apart they were probably only 50cm distance. There was only a tiny wardrobe with not enough space to unpack 2 suitcases. The bathroom was small but absolutely fine.
The stake at The Metropole are fantastic and cannot help you enough. The breakfast ladies especially were exceptionally kind and attentive. The breakfast itself was good with a nice selection and choice.
Overall based on my experience I would not return because the room was much too small and not good value for money although I am sure many of the other rooms are much larger. In all other areas the hotel was great.More
