“Give this Hotel a big miss”
Reviewed June 23, 2014 via mobile

We recently Stayed in this hotel after returning from a cruise. Found staff to be extremely rude and unhelpful. Rooms small, old, and showers never remodelled, air conditioning loud but working.
Beds hard and in no way represents a 4 star hotel. When we went for breakfast in the morning a unhelpful waitress just pointed to an area for a table. The table had dirty table cloths and no cutlery or cups. Breakfast was boring and tasteless something you would expect in a two star Hotel.
Our room was located on the 5th floor which encountered a lot of noise from the rooftop restaurant and patrons using the lift.
We could not get any sleep until the restaurant had closed and staff had cleaned up and packed everything away. We have never experienced such a noisy Hotel in all our trips around the world.
I was standing in reception and another guest gave the door man a $5 euro tip and under his breath in English he said "thanks That will buy a Newspaper " Well he will be buying nothing with our tip.
We have been very lucky to have only spent two nights at this Hotel. Venice is lovely but give this Hotel a miss.

There were several tour companies staying at this hotel. The rooms were tiny, the staff a bit cold and the breakfast not great. If I come back to Venice I would pick a different hotel, however for being on a tour it was average.

We stayed at the Carlton Hotel over Easter. We payed a serious amount of money per night, and expected that the hotel would live up to this. Unfortunately it didn't.

The rooms were very small, which usually doesn't bother me that much, but as the interior was also pretty outdated and the bathroom old, it just wasn't that pleasant to stay in. The breakfast was disappointing, especially since they had such a nice opportunity to make it something special over Easter. The roof terrace is nice, but overpriced.

The location is really great though. Venice is an amazing place!!

This is a terrible hotel and a complete waste of money. The rooms are dingy and the during our stay the AC wasn't working. There was only a bed sheet on the bed and no quilt. The staff is not very helpful. The hotel badly needs a makeover. The hotel was such a disappointment that we left after a day.

Generally a good hotel with helpful staff. It is very convenient to the rail station and the water ferries. Rooms a bit on the small side and the building is a little tired. Breakfast and other dining is excellent and a meal on the terrace on a fine evening is to be recommended. Tips include if arriving with large cases engage a local porter to take them to the hotel for you, and the trip to see some Murano glass is well worth while. The daily water ferry pass is also a good investment.

Stayed with family and friends. The hotel is ideally located opposite the railway station. Check in was smooth with helpful staff. Rooms were adequate but sparkling clean. Buffet breakfast was OK, staff was helpful. Markets and Gondola rides are in walking range. Good hotel would stay again if I visited.
