“Beautiful hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 24, 2013

We stayed for my 50 th birthday this month. Stunning hotel beautiful bedroom fantastic location we are going back. Sits on the grand canal, it's an old palazzo, staff very helpful, dining room lovely, stylish as is the reception/lounge area. Gondola station outside and train station/bus station 5 mins walk away. 2 minute walk to bars, shops and bistros.

Room Tip: Ask for a larger room with canal view

We stayed in this hotel mainly because of its short walking distance from the bus terminus at Piazzale Roma (5 mins). Check in was efficient and passports returned there and then. The room was a bit tired but it was ok for our needs, and for what we paid we couldn't really fault it too much. The main issue was the double bed - which was two singles pushed together, and very flat pillows. It was also very hot at night due to the excessive heating - even in January we slept with the window open. The whole place was spotlessly clean, to be fair. The breakfast was very good, an extensive selection, although the room could have been a bit more spacious - seating 4 people at such a small table is not ideal! It proved to be handy for the sights - the Ferrovia waterbus stop is opposite - and there are a few restaurants on that side of the river too (but beware the tourist traps!). 7 euros for a beer in the hotel bar seemed expensive but seems to be about the going rate - we paid 5 euros in another bar nearby.

I only stayed in Venice for one night before getting on a cruise. This hotel is located close to the bus station so if you take a bus from the airport, you can walk to this hotel (although you would need to take into consideration how much luggage you have). It is also close to the tram that would take you to the cruise ship doc.
It was very noisy and the hotel is very old (obviously), but overall it was clean, friendly, convienent, and had a great buffet breakfast. The shower was the smallest shower I have ever been in.

We stayed at this hotel for the weekend, and arriving from either the main bus station or train station it is really easy to find. We had a warm welcome from the reception staff and all the staff during our stay were very friendly. We were lucky enough to have a Grand Canal view which was great and we actually enjoyed the steady noise of the boats passing. Bed was very comfortable and we slept really well. There is a water bus stop opposite, or the walk following the signs to the Rialto and St Marks is a pleasant one and easy to do. Hotel very clean and good breakfast. Drinks in hotel are expensive but that's the case pretty. Inch everywhere. Perfect base for a stay in Venice and we would come here again.

Room Tip: Rooms at back are quieter, but can't beat a view of the canal when you're in Venice

If you arrive to Venice by train you shall find the hotel just opposite the railway station; if you arrive by bus to Piazzela Roma it is 5' walking distance ... During our visit to Venice we show many people trying to find their hotels with heavy luggage through the difficult to orientate streets of Venice ... We have been lucky to have a room with views to the Gran Canal! Cleaning was perfect. The room was really comfortable with free wifi access. The staff was really kind (in the very early morning we left the hotel they prepared nice breakfast packages). What more could you ask for?

We booked this hotel over the quiet period with no thought of anything but a place to lay our heads. It turned out to be the best of our choices in this 4-week holiday. It's right on the Grand Canal, opposite the train station, but because we had a room at the back it was soooo quiet. Really convenient for the waterbus(vaporetto) and lots of shops and places to eat. We were given. 2-bedroom "suite" with a little lobby that had a writing desk. ThE bathroom was large and even had a bidet(the first in our European adventure). Buffet breakfast that made us groan every morning was just the thing we needed to set us up for a wet and cold day of exploring. The only drawback is that wifi is only available in the lobby, but who can complain when it's a comfy spot to start or end the day.

This Hotel is situated very close to the Train and Bus stations in Venice so is very convenient but the overall stay we had was less than we expected. Some of the staff were rude and not at all helpful. one front desk staff was unfamiliar with printing an attachment we needed and just said it was not there, yet when I asked another he printed it right away. For the price the rooms are very mediocre and need a refresh and having wifi only available in the lobby was not convenient. The woman who tended bar was downright rude to us.
The Breakfast was good and extensive. This hotel is about as far away from St. Marks and the Rialto Bridge as possible but the water taxi is just across the canal so that makes it easier.
Overall we found this hotel a bit past it's prime and in need of some employee training or attitude adjustment.
