“Locals Abound”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 25, 2012

We sat in the square at this cafe several times-
for a pizza lunch one day, and for an apertif
another day- and it was good food, prompt service
and good people-watching. Seemed to be a neighborhood
hang out for young professionals and families.

“Fun stop in Campo San Barnaba with FAST service!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 13, 2012

Still trying to find the most excellent salad in Venezia. This one was not as good as that at Pier Dickens', in Campo San Margherita, but it was cheaper.

This outdoor cafe was crowded but not very loud, and seemed to suggest some relaxation time.

The good stuff: There was a clear view of the flea market going on in Campo San Barnaba, so it was a good opportunity to do some people-watching. Service was very quick initially. The salad was of a generous size (tuna, mozzarella shredded, arugula (not as fresh as that at Pier Dickens', though), grape tomatoes (delish). The waitresses were professional and one was especialy friendly and eager to please. Nice for Venice! The location is great -- just steps from the Ca' Rezzonico vaporetto stop, internet, coffee, candy and gelato shops -- as well as a very nice couple of art galleries. And the Leonardo da Vinci exhibit, which has been there a number of years, at the church. And, it was the cheapest lunch yet!

Either way: Had to ask for balsamic vinegar. The regular ol' fashioned white vinegar that Mom uses to clean was on the table. Haven't used that for salads in years!

The bad stuff: The chairs were aluminum and didn't support the lowest part of the back. For people with lumbar problems, I would skip it.

Salad: €7.50
Coke Light: €3.50
Total: €11
