Our group of 11 (ranging in age from 16 to 56) had a fantastic time with Elisabetta. She started off with a fascinating short walk through some non-tourist sections of Venice, and gave a great description of what it's like to live and work in this unique city. We then crossed the Grand Canal via gondola, "non-tourist" style (standing up in the boat), and began our visits to the wine bars.
And those visits were terrific. Very interesting food, good wine, and outstanding explanations and storytelling by Elisabetta. She learned a bit of the personalities of our group and made it fun for everyone. The stops she chose were excellent and we felt very welcome.
Do follow the recommendations here and do this tour early in your time in Venice. It'll pay off.
Highly, highly recommended.
