Description: Soul Kitchen, The Gentle taste of India“Sammasati” was the most frequent invitation that Gautama the buddha loved to give to his disciples:“remember have awoken!” And we at Buddha Soul propose, in our small way, to reawaken your palates trought the thousands of indian cooking aromas that echo the colours of this magical land.Buddha Soul revisits the most typical indian recipies concentrating in their taste the hundreads subcultures that influence the dishes of this extrordinary country. The “Thali” for example, that you find in Madurai will never be as the Bombay’s thali; The Malai Kofta (Malai: cream and yougurt, Kofta: potato and cheese balls) prepared at Goa it’s really different to the Varanasi’s Malai Kofta, as well the “Dhal”(red lentil soup) that forms one of the basic foods for indians, differs notably by just moving few kilometres! Our choice has been to balance spices and chilly, to meet the cosmopolitan clientele, not just venetian or indians, trying to not betray the bold spirit of indian cooking, with its unique combination of vegetables, oily seeds, innumerable masalas, curry and sauces of pronounced flavour.Buddha Soul as seeker of taste has created the menu “Not just India” proposing classic italian recipes like spaghetti with tomatoes sauce and fresh basil, but also experiencing the flavors of the Near East with the Tabule and FalafelFor the natural completion of our journey it wasn’t possible to overlook the vegetarian and macrobiotic cuisines,so here the borning of dishies like the Seitan Vietnam, the Tofu Mon Amour or the Kamut Rainbow pasta to meet the needs and the appreciating of our vegetarian or vegan Υ costumers.

“Great food , Great Service”
Reviewed June 22, 2013 via mobile

We ordered the butter chicken which was amazing. Our other dish the chicken Korma wasnt what we expected with cashfews and cream, was an ok dish. The prices were reasonable and the waiters are quick and funny!

Would definitely come back!

“A true example of outstanding Indian cuisine!”
Reviewed June 15, 2013 via mobile

This place is a MUST if your in Lido. The food is as close to authentic as you can get without actually being in India (and I've been there 3 times) Loved the Thali Himalayan and the butter chicken was to die for! Definately be going back here before we're off home. 5 star service, atmosphere and food. :)

“wonderful find”
Reviewed June 11, 2013

recently returned from trip to venice and took trip over to Lido on Sunday 9th June. Had the most wonderful Indian meal with delicious tofu and sag paneer. Couldn't fault the food or the service and the Kingfisher beer went down well. If you're visiting Venice and want an excellent Indian meal take the ferry over to the Lido and you won't be disappointed.

“A true fusion restaurant - very good!”
Reviewed June 6, 2013

The Buddha Bar seems to be one of those restaurants that seem to have an identity crisis. It doesn't really seem to know what it is. Dishes such as Lamb Madras sit on the menu with other dishes from both east and west. When we went, the day's speciality was fish and chips! Still. the quality was very good, and even if it is rather expensive - especially the drinks - is is certainly worth trying. Very nice!

“Excellent food, great location, good atmosphere”
Reviewed April 27, 2013

We ate dinner at this restaurant on 4/27/13. Two of us eat Indian food quite regularly, while the other two were first-timers. As a group, we agreed that the food was quite good. We got the samosas, chicken biryani, chicken korma, beef kabob, aloo gobi, and the jahl spicy chicken. The samosa's and the chicken biryani were slightly different than what we normally get when we order the same at other restaurants. The beef kabob, chicken korma, jahl and aloo gobi were pretty consistent with typical indian food. All-in-all, a great dining experience at the Lido de Venezia, and something that lets you get away from the normal pizza/pasta routine (though they do have some 'italian' options should you prefer that).
