I couldn't fault this hotel. It is small, tucked away beside a little canal. The position is perfect, two minutes from the vaporetto stop and three minutes from San Marco. The interior is modern and simply but beautifully decorated. Our room was not large but had a high ceiling and wooden floors with stylish, simple furnishings. The contents of the mini-bar (beer and non-alcoholic drinks) were gratis. It was all spotlessly clean. The breakfast was excellent with the small breakfast room opening out to a pleasant courtyard. The staff were all extremely helpful and pleasant. Altogether delightful.

If you've been to Venice, you know how hard it is to find a quality hotel. This isn't cheap, but you can rely on it being a great experience with no surprises. Courteous reception, unbelievable location, exemplary service, tasty breakfast, rare private adjoing courtyard where you can order drinks, reliable restaurant suggestions, complimentary minibar, and just generally polite and helpful people. This can't be beat; one of the best places we've ever stayed at in our travels.

Room Tip: The family room was plenty big enough, overlooked the courtyard, and had two small portable beds (not cots) for our teenage kids.

Of the many good things to say about this hotel, we first noticed the great location: a few steps from Piazza San Marco, where all the action is, and yet on a wonderfully quiet little a canal. But there is more: the staff is incredibly helpful and efficient. At reception, they booked us concert tickets, events tickets and restaurants, which they recommended and were always excellent. At breakfast, the waitress was amazingly kind and attentive. The hotel has a lovely courtyard where you can rest after a day of touring, sipping either their excellent free coffee our their excellent free ice tea (the best!). These little extras, like the all day avaialble coffee and tea and the free non-alcoholic mini-bar that is replenished every day, reflect the dedication to service in this very, very pleasant hotel. We just recommended it to friends and we plan to go back. .

Room Tip: ask for a room that looks out on the courtyard..

To start, we try to stay away from hotels that are not "five stars" or with some similar rating or that we are not familiar with in a new city, but given the price of the Bauer and Cipriani's and the fact that my wife was on a work trip with a budget, she chose this little three star place. We are not sure how this hotel was categorized as a three star but it certainly felt much nicer. The rooms (with high ceilings) and common areas were incredibly clean, the staff friendly and helpful, even the breakfast spread though small, was tasty and fresh. Breakfast is served till noon which basically can function as brunch and save you time and money later in the day.

The location is perfect. It is tucked just far away enough from the waterfront so that you don't get trampled on by the tourists but still only a 2 minute walk to the vaporetto. At night the sound from the bar across the street does travel up but, it's what you get for a centrally located hotel.

To top it off, the price is very reasonable for Venice particularly given that everything else is so expensive. The mini bar is FREE, and comes with several bottles of water, juice, soft drinks and beer which will also save you a few good euros (not replenished after the first day but will last you a day or two).

Everything is new and beautifully done. The staff is at the ready, so helpful and always smiling. The breakfast and mini bar (complementary) was wonderful and the hot breakfast made to order. The night before checkout I asked for directions to the train station as we were leaving early. They were waiting with a delicious bagged breakfast for us to take away and served us cappuccino when we checked out.
Superb!
