Such a magnificent place in Venice to show Armenian heritage and glory. A spiritual haven in the middle of the sea, where you can get closer to God and experience the holy spirit.
The small museum they have includes perfect items from all over the world and the main church is really inspiring.
Make sure you visit with the 15:10 boat to catch the guided tour.

What a discovery this was! We got there taking a waterbus from San Zaccaria (near San Marco Square), the little island hosts the Armenian church and monastery, where the remains of the ancient Armenian culture are sent from all over the world and preserved. Few know about the Armenian genocide that took place early in the 20th century. The Armenians had to flee their country and found refuge mostly in France and the USA. The monk who showed us around was most helpful and knowledgeable, the place is out of the trodden path, although very close to the centre - so, no noisy school trips in your way there.

The island of San Lazzaro is home to the Mekhitarist Fathers, Armenian Catholic congregation of scholar monks for over 300 years. The island itself is a beautiful and quiet refuge, but the museum, the library and the church are the real highlights. A real must visit when you are in Venice - vaporetto 20 leaves for San Servolo and San Lazzaro from St Mark's, however tourists are only admitted at a particular time of the day which as of the time of writing was around 3pm. Please remember that the island is the home of the monks whose main occupation is prayer and scholarship and respect the peace of the island.
