The hotel was Ok. It's situated in the heart of venice not far from the train station or the grand canal. The hotel is very old fashion. In our room there were a lot of mold witch wasn't good at all. The Wi-Fi only works in the reception area! It's ok to stay in this hotel for 1-2 days, but no longer than that.

Its an average hotel with basic facilities.

It was good for a short stay and perhaps a little expensive for what you got comparing it to other 3 star hotels we stayed in in Italy but that is the case for any in Venice I think.

The location is perfect. Right outside the main train and boat station.

Hospitality was good, we were informed on what we asked for, no proactive information sharing like other 3* hotels.

Rooms was big and adequate for our req. As we were four ppl sharing the room. Breakfast was good and filling with standard
options.

Recommended for short stay.

The location is great, only 5 min from the train station and waterbus stop. Hotel room is quiet and big enough for a solo traveller.

Heater automatically turns off at night. The door for the shower room is hard to close.

The Universo Nord Hotel could not be in a more convenient location--just about a block from the train station. From that perspective we didn't have far to go with our suitcases. The positives stops here. The room was too small - the bed was taking about 90% of the room. There were hard to find the spot for the suitcases. Walls like paper - can't stop any noise from hallway or other rooms. The furniture outdated and broken. The breakfast is NOT included. During the booking I was told "breakfast included - B&B", but fine print did not have it printed and therefore my request for breakfasts was denied by the front desk stuff. We did not lost much - I checked the breakfast room another day and realized the breakfast in one of the small cafes around the city was much better for the same price. We stayed for 2 nights in March, 2014

The good points:
- Location is fantastic!!!!! So close to the train station which makes a huge difference as you do not want to be lugging bags around especially in Venice which is lots of stairs.
- The breakfast was included and not too bad
- Lots of restaurants very close by and generally very close to the action.

The bad points
- Our toilet leaked when we used the shower. They didn't seem too bothered..... The manager did say he would move us if there was an issue but after it was investigated they found there was no problem. It happened again but w didn't worry about letting them know.
- The rooms were quite pokey, out of date, no opening windows or view or anything.

For one or two night is was adequate, but I wouldn't stay there longer. The staff were not overly friendly or helpful. The place could do with a freshen up, but it is fine and rooms are clean. We heard someone complain there was no lift which didn't bother us but may be an issue if you are a few floors up and have a lot of bags or for mobility issues (someone did carry out suitcases up for us).

Overall it was just ok for short stay and perhaps a little expensive for what you got comparing it to other 3 star hotels we stayed in in Italy but that is the case for any in Venice I think. The location was just perfect.

Very nice hotel a few minutes from station. Was very happy with room infrount with own balcony that looks out on canal.Reception very friendly .WiFi in reseption erea free. The only problem is that there is no elevator in hotel. They took your suitcase to our room.We love the place, nice to look down and see all the pedestrians walking up and down,or cruising of boats on the canal.
For us a very nice spot near the busses , trains taxi's and Peoples mover for boat cruises.
Nice walk to Realto bridge and main atractions.

Room Tip: Two frount rooms on third floor had balconies.

The location of this hotel was brilliant, right by the train station. Me and my friend are young backpackers and the receptionists were rude and unfriendly and the wifi can only be accessed in the lobby and was very patchy! but the room was good - it was clean and our bathroom was nice, the shower was good! one of the cheapest places to stay in Venice so I wasn't expecting much more!
