Venice is truly one of the most magical places in the world. Not any picture I have ever seen does justice to the beautiful city built on water. As my water taxi entered the canals for the first time, I felt like I entered another planet. I was instantly in love. Hotel American Dinesen only complemented our perfect three day stay in Venice.

The staff is welcoming, warm, kind, and helpful. The hotel itself was clean and well kept. It looks old, but that gives it much character. Small rooms of course, but that is the nature of all European hotel rooms.

The hotel is located right on the water, and our room had a tiny little balcony that overlooked the canal. We went to beds with the curtains open so that when we woke up, our eyes opened to the gorgeous view of the canals, boats, architecture and people bustling about. It was as if I was in a dream. And the location was PERFECT!!! It's in a quiet little area, yet all the must-go places are a short walking distance away.

They offered complementary breakfast every morning too which was nice. Delicious cappuccino, and although there were no bells and whistles to the food they offered, it was fresh and delicious. I 100% recommend this hotel to anyone that is visiting Venice and doesn't want to break the bank while still being able to stay on the water and make sure they are getting value for their money. I want to go back!!

A good hotel at an excellent location - close to il Ponte dell'Accademia. The restaurant is serving breakfast only - the breakfast was good, but not special. And there are enough opportunities to have a good brunch closeby.

Well... unless you visit the place, you will not understand the words I write. Venice is no doubt, one of the most beautiful cities and Hotel American Dinesen is also another example to illustrate this. Very beautiful property, very clean and very wonderfully managed by a great team of hotel staff! From check in to check out everything went very smooth. All the guys here are truly dedicated to their services and the way they pamper is fantastic. I really felt like home. The meals were amazing with a large choice. Overall my stay was memorable and the place is highly recommendable.

We stayed for 2 nights in a Canal View Room with Balcony on third floor. Room was very well appointed and had a jug too to make cuppa which we found a bonus in Italy. Breakfast was included & great value too. The staff were very professional & friendly especially the porter who took my extremely heavy bag up 3 floors...bravo! He was just as friendly & nothing was a trouble whilst attending to us all in the breakfast area. Ferry stop close by & water taxi access at the front door which was handy - so overall great location with shops & restaurants all short walking distance.

Room Tip: When choosing rooms remember no elevator just stairs but very helpful & strong staff to carry your bag up for you.
