Fabulous location with a private dock. Friendly staff, elegant breakfast room with delicious selections. Everything was perfect and exceeded our expectations. Third trip to Venice and this was our best choice of a hotel. Gerri B. From Boston, Ma.

Let's face it, this is not a cheap hotel, but is it worth every penny? ABSOLUTELY!!!

After being up for 26 hours, we arrived in Venice with our bags having been lost by airline. So when we got to the hotel, the concierge made a copy of the claim and whisked us away to our upgraded room! While the room was absolutely fabulous (separate bedroom, giant living/sitting area, a walk-in closet, and a marble bathroom -- I have never seen rooms this big in Europe!), alas, it was right next door to major construction. As they were drilling the building next door, it felt like it was in our room! I called the concierge and asked if they had anywhere else they could place us, not even two minutes later, they had a different room available for us, and it was even better! 5th floor with a view of the major canal....and no sound of construction! It really was fabulous.

The concierge was beyond helpful with anything we needed, he kept us updated through out the entire time on the status of our luggage and when it was delivered, and in what condition and spend 10 minutes giving us instructions on how to file a claim. I was amazed he took that much time and effort!

Their breakfast, is to die for! Everything is decorated in chandeliers and antique/vintage style décor, it whisks you away to a different reality. There is a selection of anything and everything at the buffet that your heart may desire. Yes, even prosecco!

Also, if you leave your window open, beware, a pigeon or in our case, a white dove will fly into your room, but they are apparently friendly and the staff was as always, beyond helpful and quick to respond.

The location of this hotel couldn't be more perfect! It's steps away from San Marco and 10 min to Realto bridge. Really, don't hesitate. The service alone is beyond worth it!!!!

My partner and I had planned to stay here for four nights. We arrived in a water taxi from the airport and were greeted by the hotel staff - a fantastic beginning. When we checked in, we learned that our original room was not available due to a health emergency of the person staying there before us. The reception staff offered to put us up in another nearby hotel for the first night and suggested that they'd upgrade us if possible when we returned the following night. Before bringing us to the other hotel, they treated us to a full lunch with wine; it was really nice, although we were very disappointed that we couldn't stay there that night. The hotel we stayed at the first night was fine but it wasn't nearly as nice as Luna Hotel Baglioni. When we returned to Luna Hotel Baglioni, though, we were upgraded to a large corner room facing both the Grand Canal and the small canal leading to the hotel's entry - it was absolutely spectacular with "old world" Venetian charm; well worth waiting a night for. Soon after arriving we received a complementary bottle of champagne. The staff were extremely apologetic and in general service was impeccable. The breakfast was also wonderful. Overall, we had a fantastic experience in this hotel, despite the initial issue with our room. It's in a great location - close to St. Mark's Square, yet far enough off the main walkways to be a quiet getaway from the touristy crowds. We'd definitely return here in the future.

Dear Amy L,
Let us thank you for your kind review. Emergencies may happens and you have been most kind to set yourself at disposal and of course the minimum we could have done was right to give you the chance to experience the Luna Hotel Baglioni at the best. Let us reassure everyone in this forum that the emergency has got an happy end but at the time we all were very frightened for the client in real life threatening.

This hotel is a gem, easily accessible to St. Mark's Square, about 500 feet away. Water taxi pulls right up to the front door as it is located on a small canal just off the Grand Canal, the staff comes right out to greet you. Our room was bright and beautifully furnished with Murano wall sconces, only Italians are very energy conscience and there was no air conditioning in October as they call that mid season and the air is completely shut down. We were there the beginning of October and it was quite warm, around 78 degrees so we had to sleep with the windows open and it was quite noisy as we were on the street side of the building. The staff was extremely polite and the breakfast served in the elegant Salon Marco Polo every morning was extremely good with many selections. Hotel has Wi-Fi but you have to pay for it. The hotel is very pricey as it is a 5 star hotel but in my opinion worth the expense for it's location alone.

Room Tip: If you travel mid season make sure your room is not on the street side of the building. Other trave...

Dear Barbara M,
We appreciate your kind words and thank you for posting your review. We are sorry for the air conditioning but in this period most of our guest prefer to have the heating on instead of the cold breeze. Wish to reassure everyone that this city has the advantage of the sea breeze and the quality of the air is very good. So thank you for your patience and understanding. All the staff and myself are looking very much forward to welcome you again in our lovely city and don’t miss our autumn/winter special offer to plan your next visit soon . My wife and I reached the small boutique-like hotel, which is located on a small canal off of the Grand Canal, by water taxi from the Marco Polo Airport -- very fun!

We were greeted by the hotel staff at the hotel's private dock and shown to our room via a wood-lined tiny elevator barely fitting the three of us :-) Our room was lovely. We unpacked briefly and then headed out upon Venice and promptly got lost -- part of the fun of being in Venice!

The breakfasts were the highlight of our stay -- served in the Marco Polo Salon, a large breathtaking room flawlessly decorated floor to ceiling in over the top tapestries, frescos, mirrors and ceiling paintings -- all, as only the Italians can do.

The breakfast "buffet" (more like the Emperor's Feast) was as beautifully presented as it was delectably delicious. On one side of the salon, a female harpist was playing classic melodies for all of the guests. She was so talented, we would have payed to see her, alone -- notwithstanding the incredible Marco Polo salon and the feast before us.

There was also live music each nite in the bar lounge -- a talented guitarist/pianist playing for the guests and adding the perfect atmosphere to the otherwise quiet lounge.

The front desk was very helpful with directions and suggestions and also with making any arrangements we requested.

The hotel is perfectly located for embarking upon all of the walking sites, yet quietly tucked behind San Marco Plaza, itself, which is a mere 5 minute walk away from the front door of the hotel.

Some day, we will surely return.

After our trip on the Orient Express we stayed here for 2 nights, we were upgraded to a junior suite, which was fantastic. It was luxurious, fabulous bathroom, immaculately clean, we were celebrating our Silver Wedding Anniversay, and 10 minutes after we arrived a bottle of Champagne arrived ! The staff were great and we were impressed when we were addressed by our names at all times! The most comfortable of beds. Breakfast was good with a wide choice, the location of the Hotel was great a stones throw from San Marco square..... 15 steps from Harry's bar ! (which was a bit overated in our opinion 16 euros for a Bellini and wasnt even delivered with a smile !!!).... was great to come back after a days sightseeing and have a little bit of Luxury! would definitely book this hotel again it was the icing on the cake for our trip.

My wife and I have just returned from a trip to Venice celebrating our 34th anniversary. We stayed at the Luna Baglioni for three nights. We took the water taxi from the airport to the front door of the hotel ... blessed with ideal weather for November, it was a quick and pleasant ride.
We were welcomed personally by Rodrigo, the affable manager, after a seamless check-in. As members of the Leading Hotels of the World Club, we were upgraded to a suite and given an early (10 a.m.) check in. Our suite was on the top (5th) floor with a commanding view of the lagoon. There was a total of four large windows in the parlor and bedroom providing ample natural light. Both rooms were extravagantly appointed with period furnishings and objects d'art. Padded brocade panels adorned the walls. There was even an exercise bicycle which seemed a bit out of place, but a nice touch for the physically conscious. The bathroom was huge with two sinks, a luxurious claw foot tub, and an enormous rain head shower with bench. Every inch was in exquisite Italian marble. The bathroom window afforded a view of the St. Mark campanile topped with its golden angel. There was also a large walk in closet with ample storage space. The bed was particularly firm with well starched linens.
We used concierge services several times for reservations and advice. All members of the staff were gregarious and knowledgeable. A full buffet breakfast was included, and as mentioned by most reviewers, it was a wonderful way to start each day. Indeed, it was like dining in a museum!
Upon our return the first evening, there was a complementary bottle of well chilled champagne and a delightful sweets assortment awaiting us (being a member of LHOTW does have its advantages).
All-in-all, our Venetian holiday was sublime and the Luna Baglione made it all the sweeter, Gracia.

Room Tip: our suite on the top floor facing the lagoon was sunny, spacious and very quiet.
