We booked this Hotel for a short break. Its location couldn't be better, literally 50 paces from Piazza San Marco. A private water taxi (€110 from the airport and worth the price) dropped us at the hotel entrance where it has its own private jetty. Our room was upgraded by the hotel on our arrival, which was a very pleasant surprise. The room itself was spacious, spotlessly clean and beautiful. Staff at the hotel were faultless - polite, attentive, multilingual and friendly! The concierges were extremely helpful and knowledgeable and nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast provides an impressive choice of hot and cold food and is served in a simply stunning ballroom. We couldn't fault our stay at the Luna Baglioni and cannot recommend it highly enough.

The Hotel Luna Baglioni is located in the center of Venice.
It is the oldest hotel in Venice and one of the most charming.
We have been coming to this hotel for several years now.
The breakfast room is unbelievable. I suggest you get the breakfast
included in your rate. Sometimes if you call the hotel, you will get a better
rate than if you do it on the Internet. They have upgrated us several times. The rooms are beautiful and the service impeccable. I strongly suggest this hotel to couples and families
that are looking for an intimate atmosphere and elegant place to stay.

Room Tip: If you travel in low season like the winter time, always ask for an upgrade if available.

We arrived on shrove Tuesday, just catching the tail end of the festivities and despite the snow the city was in full party mode! Our flight was delayed so we had no hesitation in paying the 110 euros for a water taxi directly from the airport to the entrance of the hotel. During our stay there were many tourists to be seen carting their luggage over bridges etc to reach their hotels. A very courteous and warm welcome awaited us. We were shown to our room (115) canal suite, and were not disappointed. The suite was spacious opulent and immaculate. A bottle of bubbly and chocolate coated strawberries were a welcome surprise. Every evening the hotel staff leave little chocolates on your pillow, a very nice touch. The bathroom was stunning his and her showers a definite bonus! Toiletries, bed linen towels etc all top quality and replenished twice daily. Staff were friendly courteous and professional to a fault. I scoured the internet relentlessly before booking this hotel and was not disappointed. Breakfast was a veritable feast, and it would be difficult not to find something to please everyone. My favorite were the little black cherry and almond pastries...absolute heaven, also the best coffee I've had in a long time! Location was superb, right next to St Marcs and a large number of shops and restaurants, absolutely ideal. My top tip would be to book through the American Express website, where I secured an extremely competitive price. And to ask for a canal or a lagoon view. If returning to Venice, I would definitely book this hotel again. Well Done Luna Baglioni. If you have found this review helpful please click the helpful box.

Room Tip: Ask for a lagoon or canal view.

What an amazing hotel.
Excellent concierge service who arranged for our collection from the airport in a very slick Mercedes and a water taxi direct to the door we felt very special.
We had booked a junior suite but were upgraded to an amazing suite.
Champagne and chocolate covered strawberrys on arrival for my husbands birthday.
Location is fantastic, just a 2 min walk to St Marks square.
The staff are very very helpful.
The breakfast room was really beautiful and again the waiting staff were so polite, and spoke so many languages.
This was a truly magical stay and were treated like royalty.
Thank you soo much.

We recently stayed at this hotel for a special birthday. It is in an incredible position just off St Mark's square in the heart of Venice and yet our room was lovely and quiet.Staff were very friendly and helpful, the concergie booked restaurants for us and gave advice. The breakfast was fantastic in the most beautiful frescoed mirrored ballroom. The reception area is lovely and the rooms are comfortable , with robes, lovely toiletries etc.
I do feel that the information booklet in the room is too brief, there is not much useful information about the hotel, the area or facilitirs. There appeared to be free coffee and cakes in the afternoon, but on the Saturday we were charged 12 Euro a per for it. Better information in rooms is required and I was shocked to receive a tourist tax of 10 Euros a night on our bill, although we were on a package . However a special hotel in a lovely location.

Yes, European hotels have more ambience and history, but c'mon. For $750-1000 per night for our junior suite (more like a regular room in the US), you would expect to have a shower where the water temperature didn't oscillate from frigid to scalding hot, you would think that the maid wouldn't wake you up every morning despite having the "Do Not Disturb" sign hanging on the door knob, and you would think it would include a gym (given that there aren't places to run outside in Venice) or a simple treadmill, but NO. The service, excluding the maid, was very good, but the rest left much to be desired. The rooms need a significant update and the noise from outside was enough to wake you. The food at the main high end restaurant was also quite disappointing, eat elsewhere. Finally, on the plus side, the location is tremendous right next to Piazza San Marcos.

Dear AmanJunkieBoston,
Wish to thank you for taking the time to post your review and for all positive points you express and let us genuinely apologize for those negative ones that will us allow to intervene to ameliorate service and guest expectation.
As you may know, been so next to St. Marks square and our building bound to fine arts is not that easy or immediate to have a Gym that anyway remains in our main project for the near future. Although there are many runner itinerary in the city.
We feel also sorry to hear that you did not appreciate our Chef Cosimo kitchen that offer a wide selection of Mediterranean dishes and Doges’ time dishes revised. Gianmatteo Zampieri - Hotel

I have stayed at hotels that require a boat to get anywhere in Venice but this hotel is right in town and is in a perfect location. Would stay here again for sure. The room was charming but the hotel had a stench which was a little weird. Breakfast wasn't great...but for the price i recommend this place.
