Great location close to Palazzo St. Marco and a lot of the other neighborhoods in Venice. Beautiful rooms with views of the Grand Canal, great service and hotel concierges that went above and beyond the call of duty to assist. Many thanks to Marco (hotel concierge) for making all of our dinner reservations (including one in Rome for later in the week), spending time giving us direction (which is tough in Venice) and for arranged a complementary private water taxi to take us to Murano. You do have to take a tour of a glass factory (which was great) followed by a "moderate" pressure sale to buy. Overall I would recommend doing this. Only complaint WiFi is not free in your room. And since this were our first days in Italy, we really wanted to stay in touch with our children back home in the US. Don't really understand why a 5 star hotel of this caliber would charge you, when WiFi was free in all the other hotels we stayed in Italy. Would we go back? Yes!

We have stayed at the E&R twice and loved it both times. The location is perfect for walking around Venice and the staff have been very nice and helpful. The hotel has rooms with beautiful views of the Grand Canal. Don't miss it.

This hotel is at a great location, close to public transportation, blocks from Piazza San Marco,There is music at night at the piazza and just a great place to hang out. Walking distance to just about anywhere.

Room Tip: Try to get a room with a canal view.

Overall a great stay. As others said the location is excellent.
Our room (corner room) was spacious and very comfortable.
The staff was helpful and courteous.
Overall and from check-in to check-out the hotel lived up to our expectations.
I would recommend this and stay there again if in the area.

You cannot beat this location, steps away from San Marco but also near the quitter, somewhat less touristic areas, right on the grand canal with an open view to La Dogana and beyond, simply fantastic. This is Venice where all buildings are (very) old, not in perfect shape nor mint condition, part of the charm of course and this should be accepted even if, sometimes, water enters and foul smells set in. Bathrooms with miserable ready-made plastic showers could be improved on. Convenience, service and overall experience of good Starwood quality. The staff copes well with the nowadays unfortunately unavoidable large cruise groups.

From arriving at this hotel to the time leaving we were not disappointed with this hotel. Having booked this hotel through last minute.com it excelled our expectation for the price we paid. The staff were courteous and very helpful, we only took hand luggage which staff locked away in a room enabling us to look around Venice until our room was available at 3pm, once checked in the hand luggage was brought to our room. Just to be aware to check the prices of the drinks from the bar, it is an expensive hotel and expect to pay dearer prices, we ordered two small diet cokes and two glasses of lager and the bill came to 48 euros!!! We put it down to a learning experience and the next day we found a small supermarket where we purchased 8 bottles of coke and 2 cans of lager for 8 euros so it pays to shop around. During our stay the hotel was flooded as was the surrounding area but this did not spoil our time spent there, check weather reports and take wellingtons!!!!!!
