4th time at this hotel, room 219 this time. From checking in to checking out the whole experience at this wonderful hotel is exemplary. Delightful friendly staff, top class facilities, beautiful decor, and a location and view that could not be more perfect. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone. Its splendour, relaxed atmosphere and traditional venetian feel make it a home from home. I would not stop in any other hotel in Venice.

Although the decor is dated, the hotel is well located on the Grand canal, 5 minute walk from Rialto and 20 mins from Piazzale Roma. The front desk staff were welcoming and spoke good English, the bed was firm and comfortable, the shower in the ensuite was good and breakfast had a reasonable range of hot and cold in a room overlooking the Grand Canal.
We didn't spend much time in the rooms and had no real need for the TV but if you did want to watch something, it appeared most of the Sky channels available were pay per view. Another small negative could be the very limited in house bar. If you travel with a lot of luggage, you should be aware that there are no lifts. Wifi is available if you want to pay for it.

Definitely has character in a historic building, that has a slightly eccentric bit of "fading grandeur". Down a small alley so can be a bit tricky to find on your first arrival, but once you are there you find your way around pretty quickly. Located in a quiet neighborhood, but just a short walk from the Rialto Bridge, restaurants, close to a Vaporetto stop (San Stae) and it's also within walkable distance (around 20 minutes) to the train station if you are light on luggage. Due to it being the quiet season, I got a double room despite paying for a single, so it was roomy for me (although like most European doubles, it was just 2 twins pushed together and in this case the mattresses were of slightly different height!). A nice breakfast is included with the rate in a breakfast room overlooking the Grand Canal. Keep in mind that Wi-fi is not included and the TV consists of only 3 Italian channels. To sum up, the best part of this hotel is probably the unique historic character and style, and the quiet neighborhood.
