My husband and I stayed at Arlecchino for one night precruise. This was our first trip to the region, and I checked Trip Advisor daily for reviews. A website Europe for visitors suggested the hotel for cruisers, and it was an excellent recommendation.
As noted on several reviews, the hotel is very easy to find. We flew into Marco Polo airport and took the ATVO bus for 6 euros per person to Piazza Roma. We purchased tickets at the desk as you exit the airport and crossed the street to the bus. It was timely and convenient. You can literally see the hotel when you step off the bus - head for the trees. You crossed one bridge, which admittedly is enough with heavy luggage.
The hotel is in great location for visitors - a short walk to St. Mark's square, Rialto bridge and Piazza Roma is literally right there. We, like most people, walked around and got lost, which is part of the Venice experience. On our cruise we took a shore excursion of Venice, but we enjoyed visiting on our own better. Back roads and canals are less crowded and more charming.
The room is small, but I understand that this is common for Europe. I also agree with other reviewers that the lack of shower curtain is odd, but again it is not uncommon in Europe. The bed was comfortable, and the room was clean. We booked directly with the Arlecchino website, and we had a canal view with 2 windows. We kept the windows open most of our visit, but when trying to sleep it is a busy area. However, when we closed the windows, we didn't hear any more noise.
As others have said, the breakfast room is small, but it worked well for us. Choices included café, pastries and cured meats. It was everything that we needed, and the quality was good.
Front desk was very helpful and friendly, offering maps and recommendations. They allowed us to check in early - we arrived at 1000, went to have some café and when we returned in 1 hour the room was ready. Check out was easy.
We used the People Mover to travel to the port, which was 1 euro per person, and again it was conveniently located. The trip itself took about 5 minutes and dropped you off with a very short walk to the port.
We would highly recommend this hotel, and we will definitely stay here again on our next visit.
