“Great for cruisers”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 28, 2013

My husband and I stayed at Arlecchino for one night precruise. This was our first trip to the region, and I checked Trip Advisor daily for reviews. A website Europe for visitors suggested the hotel for cruisers, and it was an excellent recommendation.

As noted on several reviews, the hotel is very easy to find. We flew into Marco Polo airport and took the ATVO bus for 6 euros per person to Piazza Roma. We purchased tickets at the desk as you exit the airport and crossed the street to the bus. It was timely and convenient. You can literally see the hotel when you step off the bus - head for the trees. You crossed one bridge, which admittedly is enough with heavy luggage.

The hotel is in great location for visitors - a short walk to St. Mark's square, Rialto bridge and Piazza Roma is literally right there. We, like most people, walked around and got lost, which is part of the Venice experience. On our cruise we took a shore excursion of Venice, but we enjoyed visiting on our own better. Back roads and canals are less crowded and more charming.

The room is small, but I understand that this is common for Europe. I also agree with other reviewers that the lack of shower curtain is odd, but again it is not uncommon in Europe. The bed was comfortable, and the room was clean. We booked directly with the Arlecchino website, and we had a canal view with 2 windows. We kept the windows open most of our visit, but when trying to sleep it is a busy area. However, when we closed the windows, we didn't hear any more noise.

As others have said, the breakfast room is small, but it worked well for us. Choices included café, pastries and cured meats. It was everything that we needed, and the quality was good.

Front desk was very helpful and friendly, offering maps and recommendations. They allowed us to check in early - we arrived at 1000, went to have some café and when we returned in 1 hour the room was ready. Check out was easy.

We used the People Mover to travel to the port, which was 1 euro per person, and again it was conveniently located. The trip itself took about 5 minutes and dropped you off with a very short walk to the port.

We would highly recommend this hotel, and we will definitely stay here again on our next visit.

Room Tip: The extra fee for canal view is worth it!

We stayed here before leaving on a cruise. Terrific location. People mover right to harbor to board.

Rooms are small, but wonderful view of the canal.

Excellent, tiny breakfast area.

Easy walk to Rialto Bridge.

Definitely recommend!

very helpful staff, Wi-Fi was included in the price so was the breakfast, the breakfast room is very small, I mean very small so it gets real crowded and you will have to wait for a table, because they wont let you take food out of the room, if you do, they will charge you a fee. just like the rest of Italy, there are fees and taxes everywhere you want to do business, stayed two nights, just enough.

We stayed here for one night pre-cruise, and we were very happy with it. I chose the hotel due to its location, as well as because of the price and complimentary wi-fi. The location was perfect; right next to the Piazzale Roma and very close to the vaporetto lines. The staff was very friendly and quite accommodating. The rooms were a nice size and nicely equipped. The breakfast was very nice, too. The only negative was that there was no shower curtain. I would definitely stay there again.

Stayed for 2 nights before our cruise and it was a gem. The location is brilliant if going on or off a ship and the speed boat from the airport to the hotel at 110 euros was worth every penny. Rooms are varied with some being smaller than others but all clean and functional. The concierge gave us 2 great restaurant recommendations and the cost about the same as UK 40euros per head for 2 courses with wine. Using a map supplied by the hotel it was a 15/20 minute stroll to the sights. breakfast was good with all the usual continental bits and yes the breakfast room is small but a table always became available within minutes. On the day of departure we took a short walk across the Piazzale Roma to the monorail (1 euro) straight to our ship. On the way home we just stepped into a taxi off the ship to the airport 45 euros. Overall we would recommend this hotel and definitely stay here again. Clean, convenient and freindly.

This was our second time staying at Hotel Arlecchino over the past few years. We initially chose the hotel because of its proximity to Piazzale Roma, and the ease of transferring to/from the airport on the mainland via express bus for just 6 Euro each. This second time, recognizing how easy it is to get lost in the charm of Venice's walkways - returning to Hotel Arlecchino after our explorations was always easy as we had the Piazzale Roma signs throughout the city to follow home. This said, the excellence of the hotel staff is simply amazing! Francesco is a charming host and always extremely helpful in answering questions and managing requests - always with a smile. Marco is also excellent. I can't name other front desk managers/concierges who I've met over the years, but I won't ever forget these two because they were so accommodating! Nice breakfast to start your day. Yes the rooms are small, but quite comfortable, and this is "Venice" - and the Hotel Arlecchino is a charming property!

Room Tip: Ask if a corner room is available at check-in, esp on third or fourth floor - two lovely canal views...

We were delighted with our stay at this hotel The staff were excellent. helpful, friendly and had very good advise for us with getting to the airport. Take the bus for 6 euro. Cabs tried to charge us 60 euro almost double what they charge regular residents. We were leary about the bus with our luggage (seniors) it was so easy, sure glad we took Marco's advice.
Our room was lovely, true it was exspensive, we paid for a front room over looking the canal and we were not disappointed.
Breakfasts were very good, healthy foods and lots of choices, fruit salads, cereal, yogurts, toast rolls, meat, cheese, juices plus more.

Francesco and Marco at the front desk were always cheerful and very helpful, My husband and I really enjoyed our stay here. We hope one day to get back to Venice.and would stay at this hotel again. we were surprised that there was no shower curtain!!! Appreciated in room safe.

Room Tip: This hotel is so close to the "people mover" that we took from our ship. It is a hassle ha...
