The best hotel we stayed at on our trip! Service was great from reception through to the house keeping staff. Location is perfect, on the edge of the island which means you don't have to drag your luggage through the small streets of Venice. Room was a bit small, however bathroom was big.

This is the first time I have been moved to write a review, but I feel this hotel is worth the effort. Specifically, the head concierge Stefano Vio. Without a doubt, this gentleman made our visit to Venice most memorable. It was my first visit to Venice and I was having trouble finding accommodations, but Mr. Vio came through in every aspect. The Papadopoli was full during the beginning of my stay and Mr. Vio made some inquires and arranged for a two night stay with a competitor. When I returned to the Papadopoli he greeted me with open arms, a pleasant smile, and impeccable service. The only negative (and I mean the ONLY negative) was that we were in a junior suite over the small bridge next to the hotel. This is very popular bridge and as I prefer open windows and fresh air (vs. air conditioning), the revelry on the bridge and streets could be heard most of the night. But I assume the responsibility for the open windows, so the hotel was wonderful.
I would recommend the Hotel Papadopoli to any traveler that visits Venice. It may be a bit pricey for some, but well worth the cost. And the Head Concierge Stefano Vio made the stay.

This is a perfect hotel if you are planning to take a cruise which begins or ends in Venice as it is located by Piazzale Roma which has excellent transport links to the airport and the vaporetto stops near to the hotel and this takes you to the cruise terminals. Hotel is full of character and the reception staff were very helpful with good English and welcoming manner. We arrived in the morning but were given a room on arrival so were able to get rid of luggage and get out to explore Venice. Reception described the best way to get to Rialto Bridge and St Marks Square and provided map and other useful information. Bedroom well appointed as was the bathroom with views out over the canal. Breakfast served in wonderful winter garden room with good choice of hot and cold dishes.Didn't have dinner in the hotel as there is an excellent trattoria opposite the front entrance to the hotel.
Would recommend this hotel.

Great experience--did not know what to expect. Near the port-- very convenient for travelers leaving or returning from cruise ships. Hotel is well cared for. Rooms are clean and nice size. Staff is excellent. Gave us good advice on locations of sites, restaurants, and shopping.

We had a wonderful three day stay here and enjoyed every minute from when we first walked through the entrance and said WOW! until we (sadly) checked out. We arrived early and were able to leave our luggage for a few hours until our room was ready. It is perfectly positioned close to the main bus station from Marco Polo airport yet peacefully situated in a park setting. The room was exquisite with luxury toiletries, fluffy towels and robes and a wonderful bathroom. The power shower was fantastic. The mini bar was actually a proper fridge so we were able to store our own drinking water there. The AC worked brilliantly. The breakfast was out of this world – fresh fruits and yoghurts, breads, pastries, egg and bacon, cereals, fruit juices, meats etc. The service at breakfast was amazing as the waitresses quietly moved around the room replenishing every bowl and plate so that everything was always fresh. Our ONLY disappointment was the instant coffee. For twenty five euros a head for breakfast we would have expected fresh coffee. However, if you enjoy your coffee as we do, ask for a cappuccino or an espresso. This aside, we had a wonderful experience at the Papadopoli, even if it is experiencing an identity crisis and still thinks it is the Sofitel!
