Stayed at the Cipriani as part of a trip on the Orient Express with friends celebrating BIG Birthday/Retirement. Hotel across the Lagoon from St Marks Square. Private launch to transport you back and forth day and night. Lovely gardens, spacious elegant rooms. Excellent restaurant,if a little pricey! The bonus was a heated huge swimming pool, quite something in Venice. The only downside was it did not open until 9 am,so a swim before breakfast was not possible. Very friendly staff who were helpful arranging trips etc.

It begins with a warm greeting from Roberto, who helped arrange a fabulous trip for us to Burano, to Gastone, a concierge who can make reservations at great resturants and get you museum tickets. As far as I'm concerned the word "can't" is not in their vocabulary. The young ladies who serve breakfast on the beautiful outdoor patio are outstanding. Have dinner at Cip's... the food was exceptional. It was a little chilly and the staff magically produced a shawl for my wife. Even the gardeners give you a buon giorno and are willing to answer any questions you may have about the flowers in the Casanova garden. The Cipriani is truly a great hotel.

This was a birthday present starting with a trip on the Orient Express, finishing with 3 nights at the Cipriani. Quality of room, service from all sections was excellent. Never had any problems when asking for advise and service from staff.
Thanks for a wonderful birthday.

We recently spent three nights at the Hotel Ciprini and had a fabulous time there.

5 star hotels often have staff that provide an ‘us and them’ feeling but the Cipriani is different – you are made to feel part of their family and yet the high standard of service is maintained throughout.

The room was of a high standard with beautiful flowers and a welcoming bottle of Prosecco provided on arrival. The breakfast provided was excellent with friendly waiting staff and we even had the pleasure of eating outside on our last day as the sun was shining. We also had an evening meal in the hotel’s Cip’s Club restaurant and their Risotto was one of the finest we have tasted.

The gardens of the hotel are fantastic and create an atmosphere of relaxation and the swimming pool is quite incredible – heated and set in beautiful surroundings.

Special mention must be made of 4 members of staff who looked after us so well – Giampaolo Ottazzi, the General Manager; the lovely Laura di Bert, the Public Relations Manager; Mauro Foglietta, the Reception Manager and finally Roberto, the amicable doorman who greets you in his friendly manner everytime you arrive in the hotel’s private boat – he is great at advising you on the best way to spend your day and if you are lucky you may even hear his wonderful singing voice.

We had a great time at the Cipriani and I would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone who wants to spent a special time in Venice – yes it may be expensive but you do get value for money.

We stayed that for 4 days as part of our honeymoon trip. We paid >2000 euro for a room with balcony overlooking the water.

When we arrived at the train station, we felt like in a tour following all their other customers from the train station, i.e. you have to wait for others, line up and being allocated to their designed leader to hop on the boat and go. That is totally wrong. We weren't being taken care individually by one guide ! We were happy to pay if they offer an option to us. !!! My husband was totally grumpy after a long train trip.

When we arrived to our balcony room. That was totally cheesy and very cheap decoration. So we asked the manager that we would like to change to a better one even we have to pay more money. The manager wasn't very happy that we have "comments" on their rooms. He was showing us very unhappy faces and attitude !!! That was wrong ! perhaps they were too pround .

Then he shown us a room on the palazzo side. This a better one truly old Venetician style and the room overlooks St. Marks square. I like the room . but ...

- there were water marks ad finger prints on the glasses in the mini-bar
- when we call for room services, they don't know what room number you are or greet you
- English is not very good (given this is rated the No.1 in the world??), they gave us wrong order on most breakfast
- we never have anyone or manager or staff to come or call us to find out we are ok or whether we need further help !!!! because that room was supposed to be taken care by one housekeeping manager !!! That is not friendly at all. I think it is an art to give privacy to customer but providing the right amount services at the same time .
- their mini kitchen is totally cheap materials , where are all the nice italy stone and materials !!! Gosh ...
- the worst was I had a very urgent mail that I need either DHL / Fedex to pick up and send out of Italy, they weren't helpful at all by saying all their disclaimer statement etc etc.... they didn't try at all to understand this is important and help me to get the letter over asap.

I think they might be crowned for a long time and take it for granted? They need to open their eyes for much better services. We were totally disappointed .

The experience at the hotel starts with Roberto who greets you at the pier as if he's welcoming you in his house. One night we had dinner in a restaurant in he city and, since he went to a theatre around the corner and knew that we were there, he came inside just to say hello. The rooms are nice (especially the ones that has just been refurbished last winter) and extremely quiet; you don't have the noise of being on the Grand Canal. The maitre d' at Fortuny restaurant is very professional and remembers every name. The pool is amaizing; when I went it wasn't warm outside but the pool was almost 30 degrees celcius! Swimming in Venice was priceless!

Peace and Luxury descibe well this hotel, set a few minutes away by boat from Piazza St. Marco. Arriving at the Cipriani is a magical moment, it's a continuity of what you expect Venice to be. Beautiful and Special, indeed! Most important, you are welcomed by Roberto. The Cipriani woudn't be the Cipriani without him ! Roberto will be the one to make your stay Special. He knows the nice trattoria where you feel at home immidiatly, and will give you good ideas on what to see next. Cipriani's rooms are specious, and clean upon arrival, though I would suggest a bit more checking from the Gouvernante during the guest stay. Breakfast is incredible! The home made cakes to die for, as for the choice of cold cuts, it is perfect and generous in choice. Last but not least, the heated pool, with salt water, divine! Can't say anything about the Spa, we had no time! Venice has too much to see!
