“Da Vinci Exhibit”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 8, 2013

Decent museum, which became a must do, because of the Da Vinci exhibit. You get too see all the original notes of Da Vinci and get a feel for diverse ideas of this genius. I am not sure how long this exhibit stays here, but it is a must see.

“Exquisite Art!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 7, 2013

We loved this art museum full of works by Titian, Carpaccio, Bellini, and Tintoretto, to name a few. There's a large collection of ceremonial paintings and religious art also. Less overwhelming than some of the larger museums in Italy, it still houses some exquisite art. Different rooms are dedicated to certain periods, which I found helpful. This shouldn't be missed! This was once La Carita, a church, convent, and cloisters. Very uncrowded in early May; easy to get to from the Vaporetto. Well worth the admission price. Nice staff. No photos allowed. Must check your umbrella if it's full size.

“Just a short walk from the Piazza St. Mark”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 4, 2013

This is a small museum with some very large and significant works of art. We had to wait outside for 30 minutes, because only 300 people are allowed in at any time. There is a fee and you can get a self guided audio tour if you want. It is easy to just wander around and view the masterpieces of Veronese and others. They are breathtaking, but if you are not a lover of religious art, this might not be the place for you. There was a Leonardo DaVinci exhibit that drew us to the museum and that was excellent as well. There are other museums in this area, the Dorsoduro, so check it out before you go.

“Lots of dark images of Virgin Mary”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 1, 2013

Just too many dark and too large images of Virgin Mary and Baby Jesus. The impression I left with was of repetitive and old style paintings. Not one image gave an impression of human figures being presented.

We waited quite a while to get in, but definitely worth the wait to see the Leonardo Da Vinci exhibition! Spent several hours there, not cheap but so worth it.
