I made a special effort despite a shortage of time to press though the crowds to see this bridge and walk across it. It is "special" and if in Venice you too should see it and watch the boats go by!

Being a Shakespeare buff, I had to visit the Rialto. Unfortunately, while open, it was being renovated. Thus there were no views from it. Venetians know of the bridge's popularity among tourists. As a result there were souvenir stalls on either side of the bridge as well as at the foot on both sides. By taking the #2 Vaperatto the next day we saw some nice views of the bridge. I'm glad I went, I probably will not go back

I last visited in February 2016. I think the bridge is stunning but it under renovation and also there is a huge renovation job going on in a nearby Palazzo which also affects the views from the bridge. Once all this has been finished it will once again be back to normal.

The bridge is stunning, but not really a lot to do here. It's worth a visit just to see, but we did not spend any time here at all, 10 or 15 minutes if you are lucky.

The bridge itself is really nice and you can get some great views and pictures from the top of the bridge but its very busy!
