Owner description: Considered the true heart of Venice, this landmark bridge, characterized by its 24-foot arch, is built on approximately 12,000 wooden pilings that still support the bridge more than 400 years after it was built.

Simply beautiful!! Such an amazing piece of work that brings Venice together... along with the other bridges around the city! Highly recommend getting lost, like I did. A great way to see so much of this enchanting city! I visited in September of 2012, did not have that option when I wrote this review... do not think it has changed since then.

Its one of the most photographed bridges in the world for a reason. It is wonderful to look at from all angles and really gives you a true sense of what Venice's architecture is all about.

The canal was perfect, the sky so blue and amazing weather. It was just perfect to stand at the Rialto bridge and just enjoy the moment. Unfortunately it was sooooo crowded with tourists that I found myself forced to move in a minute. Don't miss that magical view when visiting Venice.

Sometimes, when you see images in books, magazines, movies and friends photo's by the time you are fortunate to see it, it's somehow not as magical.

For me, that's how seeing the Rialto Bridge was - not taking anything away from it's attractiveness or beauty, it's still stunning.

Not sure I'd like to be here in high season tho with too many people pushing and shoving for the perfect photo.

Really a must see when in Venice. The Rialto Bridge is a top tourist attraction and its really buzzling with people. Its really a nice spot to get beautiful pictures of the Bridge and Canal and the surroundings.... do try to have some gondolas in your photos! We saw the sunset there and taken lovely photos, the view and atmosphere was out of this world!
Venice is so magical, with the canals and bridges and narrow side streets and piazzas all over, no wonder why eveyone falls in love with this city!
