Owner description: A masterpiece of Gothic architecture, the building and its sculptural decoration date from various periods. The interior, with works by artists such as Titian, Veronese, Tintoretto, A.Vittoria and Tiepolo, includes vast council chambers, superbly decorated residential apartments, and austere prison cells. Along the facades of the Palace run loggias that overlook St. Mark’s Square and the lagoon. The combined entrance ticket to the St. Mark’s Square Museums grants access to the Doge’s Palace, Museo Correr, Museo Archeologico Nazionale and Monumental Rooms of Biblioteca Marciana.

Doge's Palace was one of my favorite attractions in Venice. Conveniently located in St. Mark's Square, it is full of beauty and history. The ceilings are amazing, as are the numerous sculptures. The Bridge of Sighs is worth the walk, causing you to imagine prisoners last walk and view of beautiful Venice before tucking away in the gloomy prison cells. We took the "Secret Itineraries" tour was fun and also well worth the extra dollars.

It's just such a must-see that I don't understand why you WOULDN'T go. So much history, so many old white dudes being old white dudes. Very important to the cultural make up of Venice, and a really enjoyable way to spend the morning.

I personally love the Bridge of Sighs and subsequent prison/dungeon.

We had read various bits and pieces about this place and decided to visit. The ticket price of 18euro was a little steep but turned out to be well worth it.An amazing place. We loved the building and the set up of the rooms.

Visited today and spent a good five hours inside. This palace is just enormous. Each of the rooms and halls have information panels in various languages. This also includes the Bridge of Sighs, which the visitor is able to cross twice.
It can be quite busy during the summer, but worth it.

Even if you have one day in Venice, include this in your itinerary. You will be amazed at the glory and grandeur, plus the walk over Bridge of Sighs is an interesting one. I got a permanent stiffness in neck looking up on all those ceilings with extraordinary paintings by Veronese, Tinteretto, etc.
