Owner description: A masterpiece of Gothic architecture, the building and its sculptural decoration date from various periods. The interior, with works by artists such as Titian, Veronese, Tintoretto, A.Vittoria and Tiepolo, includes vast council chambers, superbly decorated residential apartments, and austere prison cells. Along the facades of the Palace run loggias that overlook St. Mark’s Square and the lagoon. The combined entrance ticket to the St. Mark’s Square Museums grants access to the Doge’s Palace, Museo Correr, Museo Archeologico Nazionale and Monumental Rooms of Biblioteca Marciana.

“A welcome break from the crowds”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 15, 2014

This was my second favorite thing to do in Venice, the gondola ride being first. The palace is so impressive and beautiful. We walked through room after room and it seemed there was no end to it! After the mobs of people outside in the square, our visit to the place was quiet and enjoyable and we were able to take our time and enjoy every aspect of it.

“History”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 14, 2014

Amazing place with lots of excitement and energy. There are many thing to do here and if you have an unlimited budget and unlimited time you can see it all. We did not but just to see the buildings and feel the history was enough. We also took lots of pictures. The good thing is walking around and looking costs nothing.

Loads to see, well worth it, soak up the history. It was really lovely being able to go over the Bridge of Sighs. The artwork is fantastic, the golden staircase is unbelievable.

“Worth a visit”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 11, 2014 via mobile

Took the ferry down the grand canal and stopes by this beautiful square. Full of history and great architecture for you to admire - it's worth a visit. I went on a cloudy day but in the end it was ok because the crowds of people were smaller than usual

We were pleasantly surprised at how interesting the museum is. Many artifacts and an interesting history and information about the formation of their government at that time. Don't miss it.
