“Cool clock”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 29, 2013

This clock in St. Mark's square is very cool and impressive to watch when the hour changes. The characters move and ding the bell when the clock strikes each hour. The detail and facade of the tower is very impressive and immediately draws your eye upon entering the square. I really like the detail on the winged lion that adorns the front of the tower and the zodiac symbols around the giant clock face. This is just a really cool and impressive old structure among many others in this famous square. Don't miss it on the hour!

“Great tour and views of St. Mark's”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 25, 2013

The tour of Torre dell'Orologio was a fantastic respite from the hordes of people in St. Mark's Square. We booked online ahead of time (book EVERYTHING ahead of time online for Italy!) and there were only two other people on the clock tour with us. We mistakenly took our voucher right to the entrance of the clock tower instead of redeeming the voucher for tickets all the way across St. Mark's at the Museo Correr (boggles my mind why they do this), but it didn't matter as the doorman just had us wait there for the tour guide to arrive. No line, no crowds--just went right up.

Once there, our small group went up each successive floor of the Torre and admired the inner workings of the clock which has its own very interesting history. Once you get to the top you get a fantastic view of the Moors and the bell as well as the rest of St. Mark's Square. It's actually a great alternative to going up the Campanile.

“Nicely located and very pretty!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 17, 2013

One of the major benefits of visiting the Torre dell'Orologio is that it is conveniently located in Saint Mark's Square right next to other major sites (including Saint Mark's Basillica and the Dodge's Palace). The line does get long and, if you are limited on time you have in Venice, yu may want to just take pictures from the outside. If you have the time, however, it is worth further exploration.

“Tower with a view”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 28, 2013

A bird's eye view of Venice, but do as we did and get there early as only limited numbers can go up in each lift load. By 10.30am the queues stretch half way across the square.
