We have spent some time in Venice on the Merceria streets that link the the area near the Rialto bridge to Piazza San Marco, during our trips to the city. While not huge shoppers of luxury and higher-end brands, it has always seemed like this is the fashion and luxury 'High Street' of sorts for Venice and you can pretty find most of the big names here and along with some typical Italian restaurants and Venetian souvenir shops.
To be fair, Venice has never seemed to be a real shoppers paradise in our view. We've always felt you should spent you time doing other things in Venice and save your shopping money for destinations with better opportunities to spend; like Milan, Florence or Rome or even destinations outside of Italy if you are seeing more European cities during your travels.
However, if the shopping bug has bit you, these streets that are called the Merceria, are as good as any for Venice. Another good area is directly behind Piazza San Marco on the street called Larga Dell'Ascensione where you can find a fair concentration of high end brand shops as well.
