“Very Good food”
Reviewed June 22, 2013

We went here based on other reviews on Tripadvisor. The food was excellent. It took some time to get the attention of the waitress and have our drink order taken. Once we ordered the food came out remarkably fast, and it was superb. After, we had to get up an ask for our check. The place is clean, but not fancy. The service was fair, but the food was excellent. Worth a visit.

“good food, good value”
Reviewed June 21, 2013

We found this trattoria on tripadviser, and I'm glad we did. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. It was so good we booked a table for the following evening, we were not disappointed.
All the food we had was excellent and the house wine wasn't bad either. Overall a good experience.

“first night in Venice”
Reviewed June 17, 2013

Nice little restaurant, excellent service, friendly, complementary Grappas after meal. It started raining while we were there sitting outside and a waiter came out immediately and extended the awning to keep us dry. Really good food and very reasonably priced, couldn't have asked for more....

“Very very poor quality food”
Reviewed June 8, 2013

We actually had this place mixed up with another place and it's unfortunate we wound up here because we only had one dinner in Venice and this was a very, very poor experience. And trust me, we wanted to love it, but the food was of amazingly poor quality, we were squished into a table too tiny for our food, the service was acceptable but without a single smile, they only have "house wine" and the red was served stone cold and It was not cheap enough to justify any of it.

we had an insalate mare to start and the shrimp were uncleaned. I have never been served uncleaned shrimp;. it was also unseasoned. And we had a mixed grill of fish that was literally inedible. I was scared to eat it, thinking I might get sick. it was all mushy, flavorless and generally disgusting. the couple next to us ordered a pasta dish that was SOLELY pasta. what a rip off.

I'm actually glad to know that we wound up in the WRONG spot and this was not the place that was recommended to us because it was AWFUL.

“Cheap and cheerful”
Reviewed June 6, 2013

It was 2.00, we had just finished a two and a half hour walk around the Cannaregio area with our guide, Luisella and were looking for somewhere to have a light lunch. This place looked good and we walked inside to a friendly welcome. The room was still pretty full and we were the only tourists.
With a dinner reservation at Ai Mercanti (see separate review), we didn't want to fill up at lunch, so we both chose pasta. She had tagliolini with smoked ham and rocket and I had tagliolini with scallops and porcini mushrooms. Both very good and sizeable servings. We enjoyed most of a very good bottle of prosecco (the rest I spilt on the table much to the amusement of our fellow diners). This was the cheapest meal we've had in our 20 days so far in Italy and, whilst we wouldn't head back there specifically from our apartment in San Marco, we would certainly visit again if were in the Cannaregio area.
