I was actually quite hesitant on my decision when I first book this B&B as there is 0 review in tripadvisor. But came across many reviews in http://www.bbplanet.com/bed-and-breakfast-le-guglie-venice_s13833/en/feedback.htm. The B&B is about 15 mins walk from bus station where our our shuttle bus from Treviso stopped. The bridge first bus station was not luggage friendly. But thereafter is all okay.
We arrived at 9:30 pm and Fabio who was staying at the floor beneath the B&B, was expecting us. We had 2 rather heavy luggages, (about 40+ kg) but Fabio, just took over both luggages. 1st impression - there is a genuineness & honesty in Fabio that both my husband & I liked and trusted immediately. He helped us beyond duty calls, I won't divulge further.. but we are really grateful.
Daily breakfast consist of 2 variety of package bread, 2-3 types of package biscuit/cake, cheese (2 types), jams (3 types), butter, nutella spread, orange juice, milk, 2 variety of cornflakes. There is a coffee dispenser with coffee brewing, expresso machine, toaster. After our 2 previous encounter of breakfastless B&B, we find this GREAT.. especially since I brought pates from Paris that goes well with toasted bread. Breakfast is from 8:00 - 10:30am and that is the only time you can access kitchenette.
Our room facing the canal can be quite noisy in the wee morning since there is a water bus stop in front of the B&B, but we are not light sleepers so no problem fo us. Room size is great value with an ensuite bathroom. Facility wise: air cond, safety box (thumbs up!), fridge (complimentary water), mini TV with endless channel (SKY installed), hair dryer, and hotel sized soap, shampoo (we did not used). Rooms are made daily but sheets & towels not replaced (but how frequently do you change bed sheet / towels back home?)
The shower (hand held) is okay for me since I am petite but hubby found it small.. Only grouse is the water is hot & cold intermittently but once you get the hang on how it works, you can get hot water all the way.. haha..
Location wise: it is convinient & easy to find. In fact out of our 3 nights stay, we only bought 12 hr transportation Venice card (16 euros per pax) for islands visitation purposes (Lido & Murano). The area is 5 mins walk from the bustling area of the train station, so it is queit at night but safe. Rialto bridge (we stop so frequently for shopping ... it took us a while) is easy to find if you follow the direction on building walls. To get back to B&B follow direction for S. Pietro. This is actually huge plus point since we do see many "lost" couples who could not find their hotel / B&B once the sky gets darker.
Would I stay here again? Definately - Without any second thought !
