“Rialto”

It was like something out of a fairy tale. Extremely large room very elegant. We were right on the waterway you could see the Rialto bridge from our window. It's a great location. There's a water bus stop right out front as well a gondolas . Very clean & friendly.

Room Tip: Get a room facing the water.

Rialto 1082 is very close to vaporetto stop which is good when you have luggage. It is situated on a quiet side street near Rialto Bridge. It is a good base and we walked all around Venice from here. We stayed in the spacious mansard room on the fourth floor which had a lot of steps but worth it. It had its own private roof terrace which was lovely watching the sun set from the roof tops.
Communication was fine via email but Damiano's English is not that good but my husband was able to communicate with him no problem.
There was a good selection at breakfast and overall couldn't fault this b+b. I would recommend and will be staying here if I ever returnto Venice.

There are a number of things to recommend the Hotel Rialto 1082. It’s a newish place in a good location. The bathroom fixtures in our room –third floor – were brand new and the rest of the hotel is kept sparkling clean. The breakfast is decent and we cannot complain about the price – perhaps the lowest we’ve paid in Venice in fifteen years.

On the downside, the owners speak very little English. They don’t mind the desk, so you get a front door key and come and go as you like. There might be a wait if you arrive at an odd hour and don’t phone ahead. While charming, the owners aren’t the tour guide types – so if you need a lot of direction and hand-holding, forget it. The furnishings are spartan, but suffice. There is no elevator. The rooms are relatively spacious but oddly lack room numbers. Our biggest complaint (in third floor room) was the uninsulated plumbing. When the Mansard room above us flushed, Lord it was like Niagara Falls – very disconcerting.

If you want a luxury hotel with doting owners and lots of frills – look elsewhere.

If you know Venice and need an inexpensive functional hotel (and you don’t mind the sound of running water), the Rialto 1082 is worth a try.

Venice was our first stop in our two-week trip to Italy and we spent 2 nights at Rialto 1082 B&B. The hostel owner was responsive over email and gave clear information. "Take the first on the right and then follow the left side" after taking the vaporetto No. 1 to San Silvestro stop was the very instruction given to us. It sounded vague at first but we followed it anyway when we arrived at San Silvestro and within a few minutes found the hostel with no difficulties at all! As we had informed the hostel on the approximate time we were greeted by the owner in no time at all. The hostel is located in a quiet, quaint neighbourhood and only a few minutes walk from the Rialto Bridge. After having seen how crowded Rialto Bridge is, we are glad we are staying away from the bustling activities.

As we had indicated to the hostel owner that this was our honeymoon, we were given the room in the attic which comes with its own rooftop terrace and a separate sitting room which was neat and clean with a heater that's working very well (we were caught in a heavy rain on the second night so the heater was a warm welcome). The only difficulty was probably in taking a shower which had to be done in a bathtub (the water took a while to fill the tub) due to the placement of the tub near the end of the sloping roof. But it didn't really bother us - we just laughed it off as one of the quaint aspects of the B&B.

The hostel was overall rather quiet and comfortable. Breakfast is in a room on the second floor and Papa Damiano was there every morning to greet us and make us a cup of coffee from the machine. He was really hospitable - we couldn't communicate properly since he speaks no English but he always tries his best to help, ranging from heating up croissants and bringing them to us to asking if we needed a porter to help carry our luggage to the vaporetto stop when we depart. The rain on the second day flooded Venice on the third day when we depart but there was a plank for accessing the vaporetto stop at San Silvestro so it was fine. Along the way, we saw a number of tourists who could not walk along the streets further because the streets were badly flooded. Hence, we really appreciated that we didn't have to drag our luggage through the flooded streets.

If we were to return to Venice again, this would be a B&B that we would gladly stay in again!

We had a lovely 1 night stay at Damiano's Bed and Breakfast at the Rialto 1082. The location of this B&B was a few blocks off of the Rialto Bridge in a nice quiet side of Venice. We were sure to communicate with Damiano ahead of time on our estimated arrival time and he was there waiting to greet us.

The owner, Damiano is a very sweet grandfatherly man. While we communicated in English via email, he does not speak much if any English, so come prepared to use your best Italian or google translate as we did to ask a few key questions. He was very gracious to make a great breakfast spread and coffee for all his guests.

The room was a good size, nice wardrobe and desk with room to spread out a bit. Be prepared as others have noted for a hike with all your bags up several floors, but it's expected for Europe right? :) The bathroom was one of the most modern and nicest of all our stays in Italy. We used ear plugs to keep out the street sounds at night (sounds of people simply walking past travel up to the windows above, but again no problem for us.)

We would definitely recommend to any and all!

Rialto 1082 is ideal place to stay as so centrally located - very close to vaporetto stop, Rialto Bridge and only 10 mins to San Marco. From here it is very easy to walk all around Venice. My daughter and I stayed in the spacious mansard room on the fourth floor, which had the added bonus of its own private roof terrace. As we left at 6.30am they had kindly prepared a packed breakfast that we could take with us. When we return we would definitely go back.

Room Tip: If you are tall I would not select the mansard room, due to sloping ceilings, and in the bathroom it...

Damiano, his father Nico, and the other gentleman on the staff were fabulous! The airlines lost our luggage and my husband and I were exhausted and frustrated. Although Nico did not speak English, he was extremely helpful and we managed to communicate with each other. The three men helped us make several phone calls to the airlines and were so patient with us. Nico reassured us several times and was very concerned with our happiness. The other gentleman working there spoke English quite well and was able to help us get in touch with the airlines on day two without luggage. He even went across the "street" and came back with two cups of limoncello for my husband and I to calm our nerves! The location of this B&B is great-a very quick walk from the vaporetto stop (San Silvestro) and maybe 5 minutes from the Rialto Bridge. Our room was a little dark, but the big shutters kept it nice and quiet at night. Very clean and bright bathroom-with one of the biggest showers we had during our stay in Italy!
