The owners have recently converted 3 floors of the historic Jewish old age home into a small hotel. The furniture, fixtures, windows, lighting are all brand new. Hot water was plentiful in the brand new bathrooms. Flat screen TVs in the rooms. Elevators. A/C and heat. Mini-fridge and safe in the room.
Continental (kosher) breakfast is included. In expensive Venice, this place is a good deal. We met people from all over the world.
Many rooms have canal views. The rest have views of the lively campo of the ghetto. These rooms may be quieter at night.
There is also the hotel’s lovely kosher al fresco restaurant under the stars. (Indoors in colder weather.) Very recommended for food and ambiance. The restaurant serves as the hotel entrance during off-hours, but there is someone in the lobby 24 hours. No lock out. The historic synagogues and Jewish museum are within 2 minutes walking. The vaporetto to the airport is about a 5 minutes walk. The railroad station is an easy 15 minute walk, 2 bridges away. This hotel is a wonderful option.
