“Gorgeous boutique hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 16, 2011

We stayed at the Aqua Palce for 4 nights and enjoyed a very pleasant stay. Friendly service from the front desk, nicely appointed room, beautifully decorated and a very large bathroom. The hotel had a delicious boutique feel.

You can arrive at the hotel by boat taxi which can drop you at the door, and I would recommend this option, at it would be difficult to locate intially if you were arriving at St Mark's square or the Rialto bridge.

It is conveniently located just a short stroll from St Marks and Rialto, so perfectly positioned, with several pleasant restaurants close by.

I would highly recommend this hotel and hope to visit again soon.

I stayed here with my wife last week for two nights. While a little tough to find, the hotel is situated very close to water bus stations and big sites making it a great home base while in Venice. The staff was very helpful in setting up reservations and water taxis for us. And arranged for a Gondola to pick us up at the hotel entrance, can't beat it!

At first I was not sure about this hotel since the web reviews were limited - fortunately it turned out to be a pleasant place to stay. This hotel is easily accessible from Vaporetto (public water bus) piers S.Marco or S.Zaccaria, but since Venice has lots of tiny backstreets and bridges, some find it worths the extra cost to hire a Motoscafi (water taxi) directly from the airport to the hotel (the hotel has its own boat pier) than dragging heavy luggage up and down all the way from Piazza S.Marco - especially when you're traveling with your family with kids.

The rooms are small, in our case with no view (view and sunlight blocked by another hotel next door) - but that's standard among hotels in Venice and I was aware of that and not complaining because the room was always clean. If you need a spacious room with a sun deck and a beautiful guest accessible garden, I recommend the 4 stars hotels in Certosa or Giudecca islands.

I loved this hotel because of the availability (easier to book because its not that popularly known), excellent location, and the great breakfast. The breakfast is prepared at the restaurant area on the first floor, buffet style with selections of more than 5 kinds each of bacon & cheese, fresh fruit & yoghurt, tasty croissant and sweet danish pastries (different kind everyday), and Americano coffee served in larger cups. Yes, the espresso is delicious there, but I loved that they served that larger portion of fresh brewed black coffee in the morning.

We decided for Aqua Palace because of the combination of price (€ 161,00/night via Trivago), Tripadvisor rating and location.

At e 161.00/night in July, including breakfast & Wi-Fi internet there's nothing to complain about. It's a solid 4 star hotel. Of course our room was small (as expected because I've booked the cheapest one) but when in Venice anyway nobody will stay in the room for long. The room was well equipped, the bathroom (marble) very cosy. Staff, especially reception is super-friendly but not fake-friendly.

Best is the location, right in the middle of Rialto Bridge & S. Marco square. If you do have a map you'll find the hotel any time.

Why 4 points and not 5? When I would have paid full price I would expect a slightly bigger room, not just one pillow/person and a better blanket.

Would I stay at Aqua Palace again? At the rate I got: YES!!!

We stayed in the Aqua Palace for our 10th wedding anniversary and we couldn't have made a better choice. The staff were friendly and very helpful, always willing to give you their time to recommend places to go or restaurants to visit. The breakfast was great, a good choice of fresh fruit, cereals and pastries (a hot selection was also available)and the coffee was excellent. The location of the hotel was great, away from the main tourist areas and about half way between the Rialto Bridge and Piazza San Marco, though we would definately recommend getting the water taxi as finding it on foot for the first time would be a challenge!

We stayed at the AP in the end of may. The hotel was definitely a little difficult to find but the adventure was well worth it. We stayed in a Junior suite with canal view which was clean and big for a Venice room. Te bathroom was stunning marble. The best thing about this hotel is the location and pierro the manager. On a quiet little street 5 mins from Rialto and st mArks square the location could not be beat. All types of shopping nearby in all directions. Pierro was so helpful for restaurant and off the beaten tourist suggestions.
