Getting to the hotel from venice Marco Polo Airport was fairly simple. We had pre-booked a private water taxi online on http://www.venicelink.com/index.php?lang=english, where we got it for EUR180 return. If we had gone to the airport and booked it, it would have been EUR220 return.
The water taxi dropped us at the pier which is about 200ms from the hotel. This was very convenient as we had our bags to lug with us. The hotel is beautiful with ornate venetian decor. We arrived early and the receptionist gave us a map and showed us howto get to Rialto Bridge. But as you would realise, even in Venice a map is not sufficient as you are bound to get lost. I guess that is all part of the venetian adventure.
Back at the hotel we were given the keys to our room. It was so beautiful with lush red velvet and ornate gold accents throughout the room. It was truly beautiful.
The shower was also great and so was the lovel towel warmer (which is very handy in winter/ rainy season).
The breakfast is really good and is typically italian with croissants and other pastries on display. They do also have cheese and a selection of cold meats and scrambled eggs (which you can order seperately for EUR4 and is really good).

Venice is an expensive city and i feel that Hotel Al Duca Di Venezia is really good value for money as it is just about a half an hour walk (including the time getting lost) to the Rialto Bridge. It is also about a 5min walk to the San Stae station where you can catch the water taxi to San Marco.

We will be back here, should Venice be on our itinerary again!

Room Tip: The superior red room is really lavish and beautiful!

The hotel was easy to find by following the instructions on their website. My hubby and I lived there for one night in a double room with external bathroom. The room was big and clean. But the wardrobe seemed too be very old. The room has a big double bed and a sofa. The external toilet was very new and clean. We were told it was only used by us. But apparently some other guests treat it as public toilet. For just the one night there, we saw other guests left the toilet twice. It's minor issue though.
I will stay there again the next time I visit Venice, but definitely will book a room with en-suite toilet.

Room Tip: Rooms with en-suite toilet are better

This place was great, and not too hard to find, being finding your way around venice can be quite tough. The breakfast was delightful, and a great start to each day. The front desk staff were extremely helpful, especially Michelle. We decided to stay one more night in venice, and they helped us find another hotel, as they were fully booked. The beds were comfortable, and the rooms were very clean. No shower though, unless you want to sit in the bathtub and spray yourself off. other than that, and overall great experience.

We were traveling (a couple and an adult child) to Venice and were looking for either a great hotel for the 3 of us or an apartment type space. We found Al Duca di Venezia and found that they had apartments. We booked Tintoretto for two nights over a weekend in October 2012. While staying there we were able to have breakfast each morning at the hotel....excellent breakfast and great service!

The apartment is separate from the hotel. It is a maybe 3-5 minute walk to the building with the apartment from the hotel and the apartment is on the second floor. This is a spacious apartment and very nice. We would stay there again.

The front desk staff was extremely kind and helpful with restaurant suggestions and helping to book tours and tickets.

This is an excellent place to stay and very easy to get to in Venice once you figure put how to get there. Venice is a confusing city for a first time visitor but once you figure out how to get around this hotel is super easy to find....one hint -it is right next to a museum so just follow the signs for the museum....that's how we found it.

Room Tip: The Tintoretto had one large bedroom, a bath, a kitchen and a living room witha pll out type sofa be...

I only just left Venice and stayed at this hotel with my better half. I only have praises for this hotel.

When I first looked at their website, I fell in love with the gold room and was expecting "pictures to be better than reality" scenario but I demanded a gold room anyway upon booking. When I checked in, I was told "You've requested for the gold room and we have it ready for you". I was really happy to hear that and got even happier when I stepped in the room (with a maid ready to show us around the room - no other hotel does this!) and it looked EXACTLY like the pictures on the website and maybe even better! It was huge and spacious and beautifully decorated.

I dealt with a total of 3 staff members and each one gave me beyond 5-star customer service and they were very informative. They were also kind enough to let us have our breakfast earlier than usual opening time when we told them that we needed to check out early to catch our outbound train.

Our experience in Venice is probably the best out of all the cities in Italy thanks to this particular hotel so I will always recommend it to all.

To the staff at Hotel Al Duca di Venezia, thank you for everything. You made our trip to Venice soooooper amazing! From room 104 :)

So grateful that I accidentally stumbled upon this gorgeous hotel, after weeks of trawling the internet, reading reviews, and despairing! We stayed here for our 20th Anniversary, and wanted something that reflected the romantic mood. The gorgeous superior 'Red Room' certainly achieved that!!
It is exactly the same as shown on the hotel website - the room is larger than average Venice hotels, the bed was huge (2 pushed together, but that was not a problem, they must be linked somehow, as there was never a gap in the middle) and very comfortable, the curtains are such thick material that the room is in complete blackout, even at ten in the morning! The chandelier, numerous lamps and gilt mirrors all added to the mood! Daily discreet service ensured the marble bathroom was immaculately clean, (handheld shower and standup shower over bath/ thick towels on heated towel rail & toiletries).
Service was excellent, and round the clock, our arrival at ten pm was not a problem, and we were easily able to leave our luggage on departure day.
Breakfast is continental, and available from 7.30 until a lazy 10.45, offering a large selection of pastries, cereal, fruit, yoghurts, bread rolls, cold meats and cheese, eggs, coffee and juices. We paid a very worthwhile 4 Euros each to have breakfast bought to our room on our anniversary, at a time of our choosing.
The hotel is well located, 10 minutes walk to Rialto Bridge, then another 20 to Piazza San Marco, unless you spend hours wandering and browsing the numerous shops along the way. It is just a few minutes walk from the San Stae stop on the canal, ideal if arriving by Allilaguna water bus from the airport, or using the number 1 ACTV water bus that runs up and down the Grand Canal. The train station is also only a10 minute walk away, handy for a day trip to Verona!!

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights during valentines, its a very nice hotel definitely worth paying a little extra for the ambience that you get. The rooms are exactly as shown in the hotels website, the service is exceptional and so is the breakfast. They even made us a personal breakfast on our last day since we had to leave early.
