This is a delightful 16th century building that was once a private home. The antique furniture is perfectly in tune with the period (and may even be original), except for the bathroom which is modern and well appointed. Our room overlooked the convergence of two canals and we loved watching the seemingly endless parade of gondolas from our balcony, and enjoyed the occasional serenades from passing gondolas. Our group of six took a water taxi to a location on the canal very close to the hotel, where the manager met us and helped us with our baggage (thankfully, as there are a lot of stairs in the hotel). The room was spacious and comfortable - I am most choosy about beds and I found the bed just fine. The location is well placed for everything - La Fenice Theatre just around the corner and St Mark's Square just a short walk away. The breakfast was a little on the lean side, compared with other hotels we have stayed in, but in Venice there are so many places to eat and shop that we were not bothered by this. We could not fault our host's hospitality and we loved every minute of our two night sojourn. If we go back to Venice this will be our first choice again. Highly recommended

We stayed here in room #1 for 4 nights before leaving on a cruise. This was my second time in Venice, and staying here made this a truly wonderful experience. The B&B is just off a charming little square that houses La Fenice Opera House, a 16th century church and several restaurants. It's a short walk to St. Marks Square, and one of the major gondolier stations. It's quiet and it's safe. Room # 1 overlooks the canal, and you will be seranaded by gondoliers from 10 AM until midnight. Who cares about the construction noise??? You're in Venice hearing opera sung from your window that opens onto the canal! (Besides, the noise was minimal, and we didn't stay in the room past 9 AM) We were NOT met at the vaporetto by the owner unfortunately. However, just keep asking how to get to La Fenice Opera and you will have no problem finding it. We plan to return to Venice in 2-3 more years, and we will stay here again!

Room Tip: Room #1overlooks the canal and is spacious.

My husband and I stayed at the Minelli in a self catering apartment for two nights after leaving our cruise ship. The prospect of flying home without exploring this wonderful city was too much to bear so we chose the Minelli and were not disappointed.
The owner met us at the Rialto vaperetto stop and immediately insisted on taking our heavy case and guided us the short distance to our apartment.
Set in a small courtyard, this apartment really is a couple of minutes from all of the main sights, so a superb location.
Atmospheric, 16th century building, the apartment is at the top of a set of very steep, stone steps, so would not be suitable for anyone with mobility problems, however, we saw the steps as a fitness aid after eating lots of delicious italian food!
Clean, with everything you could need, and a newly refurbished modern bathroom, we were enchanted with the apartment.
Gorgeous wooden beams and the canal right under our window, we loved watching the coming and going on the canal and had a fantastic view over the rooftops over the city.
The owner even left us fresh milk, juice, coffee, teabags, etc on our arrival... superb service.
I loved Venice and it was so special to be there in such a superb apartment and in such a great location.
On leaving, the owner even carried all of our cases downstairs for us!
Wishing to avoid dragging cases over lots of bridges, we opted for the nearest vaparetto stop, which was only once bridge away!
So we went to the Per San Marco and bought a ticket which took us to Piaza Roma where we got the bus to the Airport. You can buy the ticket as an all inclusive, not expensive and we found the staff to be very helpful when purchasing.
A tip is to buy your ticket early on the day that you need to get to the airport, to avoid the qeues.
We are already planning our next trip for the Spring.

We stayed at the Minelli for 2 nights. It is a stones throw from Sam Marco and an excellent base to explore Venice. The only problem was we were given a room over looking a canal (fantastic you might say) we were woken at 4 - 5 a.m. by workmen going to work ferrying tools equipment and materials to a job. However I'd like to think that the building work will have been completed and a good nights sleep can be had. Service at the Minelli was excellent breakfast delivered to the room by Alex (the manager, I think) Please stay here as it's is first class and with all mod cons.
