“100% Recommendation”
Reviewed August 22, 2012

We loved our stay at B&B Rialto and couldn't fault the room, the breakfast, or the hostess, Adrianna. Our room overlooked the Grand Canal and was next door to the local produce markets which included fruit and veges and fish and seafood. The communal fridge allowed us to purchase goods which we could cook in the kitchen and eat on the balcony overlooking the Canal.

The room was clean and tidy and was of a good size. Sharing a bathroom was not an issue since it was immaculate as was the room, with fresh towels provided each day.

We would have no hesitation in recommending B&B Rialto to anyone looking to stay in Venice.

The location is right on the grand canal and next to the big produce and fish market.

PROS:
- location
- assorted breakfast items along with fresh fruit and expresso maker
- air conditioned rooms (not the common areas)
- terrace overlooking the canal...great to sit on while eating breakfast and seeing the merchants getting their products from boats
- clean rooms and clean bathrooms

CONS:
- because the place is old and has wood floors the place can get noisy with people going in and out of their rooms..ear plugs solved the problem for us.

If your looking for all the little perks of new hotels then you may not want to stay here but if your looking to call a place "home" for your stay in Venice this place is excellent!

Room Tip: WE stayed in the burano room..nice room because it has two windows

I couldn’t fault our stay at the B&B Rialto. We arrived on a Saturday lunchtime from Marco Polo Airport. We got the bus direct to Piazza Roma and made the decision to walk to the hotel. It wasn’t the wisest choice due to all the steps and bridges but it only took us around 15 to 20 minutes to the B&B door. The B&B is slightly tricky to find so make sure you print off some directions before you go (or like us rely on good old Google maps!).

The entrance to the hotel is located up a few stairs so it was a slight struggle with the cases (there is no lift). We arrived to a wonderfully helpful lady (Adrianna’s friend – sorry I couldn’t remember her name). We were offered an espresso and taken through the facilities and suggestions on what to do during our stay. This was very helpful indeed.

We stayed in the suite – the only room with its own bathroom. It wasn’t cheap at around 360 Euros for two nights but in my opinion is good value compared to other hotels in the same area. The suite was spacious and could easily accommodate 3 to 4 adults (there were only 2 of us). There was one double bed and a z-bed that was stored in the wardrobe. There was a small table and chairs, a more than adequate bathroom, wardrobes and fantastic views over the Grand Canal from the bedroom area. The other rooms at the B&B had a shared bathroom, but to be honest as there are only two rooms sharing I wouldn’t have thought this would be a problem at all. These rooms were also significantly cheaper.

The great advantage of this little place is the kitchen. You are allocated a shelf in the fridge and a tray in the kitchen with your room name with which you can take food from at any time of day. This was particularly good after arriving back at the hotel after a long day of sightseeing. This also allowed flexibility for breakfast and the food could be taken back to your room or you could eat in the breakfast area with a balcony out to the Grand Canal. There were pasties, cereals, bread, cheese, eggs and jams all of which were very tasty. There were also unlimited espresso, coffee and tea and also a water dispenser on offer. Cooking facilities were also available if you wished to use them (including a microwave), kettle and oven.

The location is perfect, a 2 minute walk from the Rialto Bridge and roughly 10 to 15 minutes from San Marco square. The Rialto Market is a stone throw away and can be seen from the windows.

As two females staying we felt very safe, two locked doors separate the hotel from the street and then a further one for the room door. It was slightly noisy when other guest returned home but that was just the nature of the old building and the sound of the clunky locks turning. There was not always anyone around during the day and night so it might have been difficult if you had any questions during your stay, although the people here were very friendly I’m sure you could have called them.

I would highly recommend this B&B if only for the location, all the other extras were a complete bonus. The B&B isn’t luxury by hotel standards but has a lovely traditional feel. Overall it’s a very friendly and safe B&B. If I return to Venice I’ll definitely plan to stay at the B&B Rialto again.

Room Tip: The suite is absolutely lovely with great views, but for a bargain stay choose a room with a shared...

This B&B was awesome, great location right by rialto bridge and the room was excellent.
We had a double room. that looked out over the canal, what an amazing sight to wake upto in the morning, The breakfast was a box of food, continental breakfast items, plus youghurt etc...left in the fridge for you. Each room had their own trays with items on and their own shelf in fridge, Cooking facilities there should you wish to make other items.

Bed was comfy and room very spacious, really clean and had everything we wanted.
Steps upto room quite steep but to be expected with the architecture of the city.

Really couldn't fault it...warm welcome by the hosts who really couldnt do enough for you

Definately will return!!

I found this B&B because of the excellent ratings and I certainly wasn't dissapointed. Everything is perfect. Breakfast is a box of goodies waiting to be opened (each room has a tray of food and a shelf in the refrigerator with everything you need for a complete breakfast). I stayed at the room with the shared bathroom which has an unbelievable view of the Grand Canal. You just sit by the window (or in the terrace just next door) and see Venice go by in front of you. I could go on and on about this place. But my suggestion is you come live it yourself. I don't want t spoil the many nice surprises waiting for you. And I will be back.

Room Tip: The rooms with the shared bathroom have the view you want. And there is a bottle of vodka in the fre...

I booked this place on the basis of the other reviews here and was not disappointed. We stayed for 3 nights at the end of August with our 18 month old son and we are so glad we booked this place! After a bit of a long and hot walk from the vaporetto stop (if you are travelling in the height of summer or have lots of bags I would recommend you shell out for a water taxi to deliver you direct to the door - its right on the Grand Canal!) we were so glad to arrive in the lovely Suite room we had booked with icy cold air con. Our little boy loved being able to run around the large room and he had his own little sleeping area which was perfect for him.

The rest of the facilities are fabulous too, each room gets their own tray of tasty things to eat for breakfast and lunch and there is plenty of fresh fruit available - my little boy discovered a taste for fresh apricots which you almost never see in the UK! I quite like my coffee so was very happy to see proper Italian espressos on tap too. There is a lovely little terrace to have breakfast on that overlooks the Grand Canal. As there are only 3 rooms, the place is never very busy although we did spend a very pleasant evening chatting with some of the other guests! There's also free wifi throughout which is very handy.

Without a doubt one of the nicest places we have ever stayed, highly recommended

Room Tip: If you want an ensuite room, make sure you book the suite

We arrived in beautiful Venice and disembarked from our cruise-ship in the morning. We were travelling with a number of bags and decided it would be easiest to reach the B&B via water-taxi. Our fantastic host Eleanora, kindly arranged for the water taxi and the captain Davide was waiting for us upon our arrival to the taxi docks. It was a beautiful (and short) trip to the B&B through the grand canal and a series of smaller canals. Eleanora greeted us at the dock right outside the B&B and helped us with our bags and showed us the beautiful property. After we had a chance to settle in, Eleanora provided us with some maps and information about Venice. The property is in fantastic shape and our room was outfitted with a comfortable bed, was tastefully decorated and a good size bathroom. Our room (I believe it was the pink room) had a fantastic view of the canal. The B&B is situated perfectly and within walking distance to everything. It was so close to everything in fact that we didn’t even bother using the Vaporetto. Gracie Eleanora for helping make the Venice portion of our honeymoon stay so magical! We had hoped to post this review much sooner than this, but our post-honeymoon schedule has been hectic to say the least.
