Decided on the spur of the moment to go on a weekend break to Venice, and we were impressed by the excellent reviews on tripadvisor and booked. It didn't disappoint! We were welcomed by very friendly staff, who made us feel immediately at home and gave us excellent tips on where to go during our short stay. The rooms were gorgeous (though slightly disappointed we had no view) and absolutely spotless. Breakfast was good and the hotel is in a very central location.

Thoroughly recommended!

(Small side note - the hotel offers a guided tour to one of Murano's glass factories - worth a visit but be warned, you WILL be pushed to buy! Nothing to do with the hotel, that's why it didn't affect my rating.)

We were upgraded to Hotel Canal Grande from their sister hotel, Antiche Figure (just round the corner) and paid the same price....so will say from the outset that the 5* review for value for money may be different if you book direct?!
That aside, this hotel was amazing! Location (for train station, bus station, water bus, easy walk to all main tourist sites) was ideal and the room we had overlooking the Grand Canal was awesome - 4-poster bed, great views, large room, luxury decor, the lot!
Breakfast is as you would expect for a continental, but a massive bonus was their complimentary trip over to Murano on their water taxi. So glad we didn't pay €110 to go from the airport to the hotel on arrival (do the €4 bus by the way - 20 minutes, absolute no-brainer!!) as we got to experience a water taxi for free!
One word of warning about navigating round Venice (so nothing to do with the Hotel!) - if you don't get lost at some point you'll be doing really well! The yellow tourist signs aren't always that useful, and maps don't tend to show all the little subtle bends and corners that you'll come across when trying to find some specific like a certain restaurant. Luckily it's a pretty nice / safe place to get lost in!!

We stayed for three nights and were very impressed with the friendly welcome which included a room up-grade. Breakfast was good, room was spotless and beautifully decorated with damask fabric in place of wallpaper. Thoroughly recommended - will will stay there again we hope!

We stayed at the Hotel Canal Grande for 2 of our 4 nights in Venice. Unfortunately, the hotel was booked for the last two nights. From the moment you enter the lobby, it is the most pleasant experience. Every member of the staff is friendly and helpful. The location is perfect. We will definitely stay at the Hotel Canal Grande on our next trip to Venice.

Great little hotel in close proximity to train and bus station, situated in quiet square by the canal. Well located for restaurants and shops. Beautifully decorated (we were in the Academia room) and well maintained. Nice touches such as television in the mirror. Super-friendly and helpful staff. Nice breakfast included. Free wifi in hotel but had a habit of disconnecting frequently in the room so had to keep re-entering the code. Overall great Venice hotel

This hotel is beautiful and charming. We were so pleasantly surprised with our room - we got the double room overlooking the canal - and enjoyed returning to the room after our daily treks through the city. I would definitely stay again. It was immaculate, and they did not cheap out on the interior finishes - from built in wardrobe, hardwood flooring and antique area rugs, to period furnishings and sound proof doors and modern fixtures in the bathroom. Do not look any further - stay here. The breakfast was so great and the coffee fantastic. We also felt lucky to be right near the train station at the eastern part of the canal for when our departure came and we were able to walk there to catch it for Florence. It is also a quiet hotel.

We stayed here in December 2012. It is perfect hotel for a stay in Venice. Beautiful view of the canal grande from our room and the breakfast room. There is a small veranda where you can sit and have a drink of coffee or wine right on the canal etc Very good location to the train station and square where the taxis drop off. The staff were all wonderful, the room was superb looking right over the canal even from the bathroom.Breakfast was plentiful and fresh. It was not cheap but you get what you pay for in this case. Faultless
