We stayed here during our visit on June 27th & June 28th, 2012. We booked this hotel through our AAA agent & couldn't have been more pleased. This hotel was WONDERFUL!! The experience of being water taxied directly to the hotel set the mood for a great stay. From the moment we got off the water taxi, we were in awe of the beauty of the hotel. It doesn't look like much from the outside but you step into another world when you walk in. The check-in process was easy & the staff was very friendly & helpful. We stayed in room 405 & was surprised by our view of the canal and the church below. The hotel is coveniently located by the St Stae Vaporetto stop which made it covenient when we wanted to go to St. Mark's Square. The hotel made us feel like royalty. It has the charm of an old palace & the decoration of the hotel was equisite. We took the liberty of walking up & down through the floors of the hotel to the lobby & found a great sitting area with a beautiful chandelier between the 2nd & 3rd floors. Our room was not only beautiful but very comfortable. The marble bathroom was beyond what we ever expected. The towels were made of cloth but were very nice. The breakfast room is off the lobby but had a great selection of hot & cold items. We were able to have a hearty breakfast which would keep us satisfied until lunch. The coffee we had was the best coffee I had in Europe. The breakfast staff was quick to replenish any missing items. The location of the hotel was great for us. It was halfway between the train station & St. Mark's Square. We were able to walk everywhere through the little alley ways & side streets. It is easy to get around. You just have to follow the arrows with the name of the landmark you are trying to get to. The Rialto Bridge was about a 10 minute walk but of course we stopped to look at everything along the way. We had the pleasure of exploring both sides of the hotel & found a lot of little shops, cafe & restaurants. We highly recommed Osteria Ai Stortie. It's a very small restaurant on the way to the Rialto Bridge. I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone traveling to Venice. I will definitely be making plans to revisit Venice & the Palazzo Giovanelli.
