I have been pondering for some time before writing this review because I wanted it to be fair and positive. The booking was very easy and Daniela was very useful and answered our questions as soon as asked. We could pay the deposit by credit card, and we’ve received a detailed booking form. We had reserved a water taxi through the Truly Venice agency and were to pay the driver 110€. My husband and I have been in Venice 2 days in advance to make sure we be there to meet our friends who were insecure in a new city. On the booking form, I gave Truly Venice our friends flight number but they did not arrive on that flight because of a mechanical problem on the 1st part of the flight and they failed to tell us. Because we were late for the water taxi we had to pay an extra 40€ as a fine (what a welcoming gesture)… My husband was in a fury, feeling cheated. We have been greeted at the Veronese apartment as expected and everything looked fine. The apartment features big rooms and a well-appointed kitchen. We even had toiletries in the bathroom. Everything was very clean except the microwave oven. This fine apartment is also very well centrally located near the Academia bridge and you can walk to all the main attractions of Venice. There is a nice balcony overlooking the Academia pensione gardens. There were masonry works on the apartment building and the worker began quite early in the morning so we had to wake up early too. The noise was sometimes annoying. The worst thing that happened in the apartment was the intrusion of the landlord’s son who entered the apartment when we were there without knocking, ringing or warning. He used his own key. He excused himself profusely but this should never have happened. We immediately called the agency to complain. All in all, to do justice to the Veronese apartment, I must say that it is a charming apartment and very convenient but the Truly Venice agency should make sure that these mishaps do not happen and we strongly believe that they should have warned us of the 40€ fine charged by the taxi driver should we be late and also of the masonry work going on the building.
