This hotel was chosen by our university agency to spend 2 weeks for a workshop in Venice. and as I can assume, the reasons were: close to the vaporetto stations, has a view on the canal and a nice price. The rooms are pretty small, I advise to choose this hotel if your staying for a short stay. But they're clean and have the cozy venetian style decor. The breakfast is basic with no fruits and variety...

Room Tip: The rooms with a view on the canal are the best, but you should be lucky.

We stayed at this hotel whilst on a four day trip with our friends. It was very well piaced for the train station, bus station and water buses. Also being on the northern part of Venice ment we could get lost around all the little streets but could always end up in the important sight seeing parts without any problems. Like other reviews as we approached the hotel it looked very run down with graffiti, but once inside the staff were friendly and our room was very clean and comfortable. We had a room that overlooked the side canal and the grand canal which was lovely, especially when the gondola came passed with the singer and accordion player. But it was noisy during the night with the busy boat traffic that moves around whilst the city sleep. We found the breakfast was always fresh, plenty of it, and very enjoyable.Overall a very good stay

Room Tip: very convenient position for travellers.

Perfectly adequate B&B hotel, great if you just want somewhere to sleep, shower and set yourself up for the day. Outside and some inside areas look a little shabby but our room and bathroom were spotlessly clean and all the staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast rolls and pastries were always fresh and there was a good selection of other items. Scores most highly on it's brilliant location - 5 mins from the bus station and only a few minutes more to a vaporetto stop and of course it's right at the entrance to the Grand Canal.

Room Tip: For the real buzz have a room facing the Grand Canal

I really wasn't sure what to expect when we arrived and saw the outside. Very run down with graffiti on the walls. However, the staff were very pleasant and the dining room waitresses worked really hard indeed. Our room was fairly large with a huge comfortable bed. One of the best sleeeps i've ever had in a hotel. The room was so clean. Not a speck of dust in sight. It was shabby but so very very clean. Could not fault it.
The continental breakfast was good too. Soft fresh rolls, bread, jams, fruit, yoghurt, cereal choices, soft cheese and ham.
If you are on a budget then this hotel is for you. Perfect location.

Like many others have also reported, we were a little unsure as we approached the hotels rather run-down looking exterior and the lobby/dining area also appears a little basic (perhaps in need of a little love) however we were very pleased with the room and our stay overall!

Fantastic location- practically opposite the train station, 2 bridges and a few minutes from the bus station and a stones throw away from the water bus stops. Easy to reach all the main hotspots on foot also (definitely recommend walking as we stumbled across beautiful hidden canals/bridges and some fantastic 'local' cafes and bars with more atmosphere and lower prices than those in more tourist areas).
Room was more than adequate. The decor was fitting with Venetian 'shabby chic', enough room for the 2 of us and all my clothes!, Reasonable priced mini bar, toiletries supplied And very clean. I regularly stay in travelodges as part of work and this room was by far a higher standard than any of those iv stayed in. However don't expect luxury- for the price this room is fantastic although a little basic and we would have perhaps liked facility to make a hot drink ie tea (a very British request I know!). Also our tv had only 1 English speaking channel- again not an essential but after a long day walking around venice it would have been nice to put our feet up & relax to something other than CNN.
Breakfast was spot on- a range of breads, ham, jams/spreads/soft cheese, cereal, fruit, yogurt, hot drinks & juice.
Staff were generally a little distant, however all those we approached and engaged with were friendly and helpful.

In summary, don't go to the hotel canal expecting high standards and luxury however for the price you pay you are getting a great deal. We were barely in our room as we only stayed 3 nights and spent most of the days exploring what venice had to offer. For somewhere to rest your head at the end of the day, this place is perfect!

Room Tip: Definitely worth paying the little extra for a canal view - it's wonderful waking up, opening the window and really feeling involved in the comings and goings along the canal.
