Description: Founded in 1936 in the heart of Venice, in the Calle Cavalli street, very close to the Rialto bridge and the Rossini cinema, our wine bar offers its customers a cosy and peaceful atmosphere, with a familiar touch given by the wooden decorations which are the same that characterized the ancient "bacari", the places where people stopped to have a "cicheto" (small portion of typical food) and an "ombra de vin" (glass of wine).

“Lovely wine bar”

Very friendly staff and a great selection of wines - and they do a very good spritze. A good place for a light lunch snack (as long as you're not vegetarian).

“Belissimo!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 24, 2012

I had dinner there with some friends last night - amazing!
The wine that was recommended was perfect for the fishy meals we had.

The guys working there are friendly, the atmosphere is relaxed and very Italian.

The food was delicious. We had muscles in tomato and garlic sauce which was the best ever!

The main was fantastic too - raviolli and pasta. So good.

I would really recommend this restaurant for a group of friends or a couple for a romantic dinner ;)

“A must visit. Quiet, amazing and authentic.”

Really well made food, good cheap wine and friendly, warm service. The fact that most people that eat here are Italian and not tourists is another very good sign.

Enjoy!

“Must Eat Restaurant”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 9, 2012

Service can be slow once it packs up, but the food is delicious and wine is plentiful and cheap. The sardines with onion I had for appetizer is to die for, as is their eggplant lasagna.

“Best meal in Venice”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 31, 2012

We are from chicago gold coast and eat at the best restaurants regularly.
This quaint restaurant piqued our interest as we were walking near Rialto bridge so we stopped by and asked for a little table outside and had one of the best meals in Italy. Bigoli with anchovies
And sautéed onions, black squid, octopus salad and artichoke cheese stuffed ravioli along with a great red wine. We struck gold in this enoteca and ate to our hearts content. We felt so fortunate to eat such an amazing meal by sheer luck,
Amazing value too
