We arrived via a private transfer from Marco Polo airport, stunning way to enter the city and would really recommend doing this ( the hotel charges 125euros to book this but there are several companies who do it for around 95, well worth it if you are travelling in a group.). The transfer booking through the hotel is to the hotel's front door but this is dependent on the lagoon tide water level so you may end up being dropped off at the pier any way.

Easy access to the hotel from the San angelo pier as detailed on their website, 3 min walk to San angelo sq and palazzo paruta is on the corner.

We were welcomed by very knowledgable staff who spoke excellent English. They were able to print tour vouchers for us. The courtyard is peaceful. We stayed in one of the suits with a canal view, stunning high ceilings with blue thick velvet curtains. The room was a highlight as we were only staying 3 nights so wanted to feel like we were in venice at all times. It's not cheap but is very good value for venice.

Breakfast had very good selection, the free afternoon tea each day was a nice touch. The service was a real highlight, they used the afternoon tea (4-5:30pm) time to do a turn down room service. For a fuller afternoon tea, the gritti palace does one for 38euro pp but it's not comparable to the London hotels.

Really easy walk to San Marco square, la fenice opera theatre (worth a day time tour if not fancying a whole opera) and Rialto. There are also good restaurants nearby that the hotel can recommend.

I'd also recommend taking a gondola from the canal outside the hotel, it does quieter routes- we made the mistake of getting a gondola from the grand canal and it was rushed, choppy and our gondolier repeatedly spat into the canal. Not romantic!

Everything perfect: the location, the staff, the room. Not far from San Marco but out of the confusion. Very silent room and very confortable bed. The braekfast was great: good quality and a lot of things. I'll certainly come back to Palazzo Paruta.

If you're looking for a small boutique hotel in the prime San Marco district, look no further. Nicely decorated, marble bathrooms, and lovely breakfast with service.

If you need direct access to a water taxi, this isn't going to work for you. Be prepared to drag your luggage across the piazza and up and down stairs. We were in a junior suite but had a limited canal view.

The location was great once settled in...5 minute walk to Saint Mark's square, 15 minutes to Rialto, and very close to water taxi next to San Angelo water taxi.

The hotel is tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the Grand Canal, and can be a bit difficult to find at first. The hotel staff was nice and professional greeting you each time you walked in and out of the hotel. We had booked a Junior Suite with canal view, but there was no canal view in our room, but that did not matter as the size of the room compensated for any loss of canal view. We had a separate lounge and balcony located at the top of the stairs.
The hotel also offers complimentary afternoon tea everyday which was great and gives you a chance to rest your feet after exploring Venice. The breakfast had a good selection of food but make sure you go after 8:30am as hot food may not be bought out until then, and don't start the crepes station until around 9am which I find a bit silly given that breakfast finishes at 10am.
My only complaint would be the king bed which was hard and made up of 2 beds with minimal padding which made the gap very uncomfortable.

I had booked a holiday for my parents to this hotel earlier this year. Unfortunately, my mum's brother passed away suddenly. Upon contacting both the hotel and airline, the airline happily refunded the money and demonstrated compassion for our situation. We contacted the hotel requesting a possible alternative date. Management would only grant this if we provided a copy of the death certificate or a letter from the funeral parlour. When forwarded the letter, they were dissatisfied with the quality of the stamp from the funeral parlour to verify the validity of the letter.....need I say anymore?! This is sickening, as though to imply one would forge this kind of a letter?!

They then reluctantly gave a change of date for two weeks time! Anyone who has had the stress of organizing a funeral (whilst dealing with shock and grief) will appreciate that this is hardly accommodating! So they "kindly" agreed to 4 weeks later. To which they added an additional fee of 325 euro (for a 4 night stay) to the initial fee paid. I must also add, they withdrew this money without obtaining consent from the account holder.

Within days, my father got diagnosed with cancer. We pleaded with the hotel to empathize with our situation and provide an open opportunity to re-book at a future date (post my fathers treatment for cancer), happily agreeing to pay the additional cost that would be associated with that booking. Apparently, it was not within their 'administrative procedure' to accommodate such a request. I struggle to understand how you cannot simply provide a credit note under the exceptional circumstances at hand!

Throughout all the correspondence, they added to the pressure by issuing deadlines of a day or two to confirm our rearrangements. It was simply shocking!

I appreciate that the booking was initially a non-refundable option. However, with such unforeseeable and tragic circumstances, I find the attitude demonstrated by this hotel to be appalling! So much for good will and compassion! We received total refunds from the airline and train company, no questions asked.

I do not doubt that previous reviews concerning the quality of the hotel itself are accurate. Personally, I would be hesitant to ever recommend such an establishment when management convey such an insensitive, penny-pinching and ruthless attitude to their customers!

In spite of the non-refundable rate,
In spite of the late cancellation (only 2 days prior to the arrival date – the uncle passed away 25 days before),
In spite of our confirmation to postpone the arrival date without penalties (insensitive ?),
In spite we’ve suffered a financial loss equal to the reservation amount caused by the late cancellation (penny-pinching?),
In spite of our offer to reschedule the arrival at the end of February or in March
In spite of the nice words “I wish to thank you for how patient you have been with this matter. I realize this has been tedious and somewhat drawn out for you”.
In spite all above, she finally decided to threat the hotel of a bad review in a public forum in case all of her requests will be not one-sidedness accepted, including “to rescheduling the booking without any additional fees” (your reservation was under a low season rate).
As everyone can realize from the reviews, all of us have a clients oriented attitude and we are very proud of that. We return to sender the threat togheter with our compliments for her behavior.

Charming, quaint, enchanting hotel that added to the whole magical Venice experience. Cannot fault the hotel or staff here, they where polite friendly and professional. he rooms are not quite as grand as the photos suggest, but nonetheless this is still a very special place that will not disappoint.

Hotel is slightly hard to find initially, but I think this adds to the charm and appeal...Its a hidden gem of a place.

Only one small slight criticism - perhaps some music in the breakfast and tea rooms? With such lush, opulent surroundings it would have been nice to have had some classical music to add to the atmosphere instead of pure silence...

Treat yourself and book a stay at this hotel it will leave you mesmerised.

Room Tip: would recommend you upgrade if budget allows

This was hands down the best hotel we stayed at during our 13 day trip to Italy! Though the hotel is tucked around a corner (and we nearly walked past it upon arrival) the location was great; close to a couple vaparetto stops and Piazza San Marco. The front desk staff was also pleasant and helpful. Our room was beautiful, clean, and comfortable! My only complaint would be the lack of any English channels on the television (specifically CNN). We received turn down service during our first two nights (we stayed three nights). We also received a bottle of Prosecco, some cookies, and a small Murano glass bowl in our room (these were benefits based on the company we booked with) upon check-in. Though our room was not ready when we arrived, the hotel held our luggage (then placed it in our room when available) so we could head out to explore Venice. The breakfast was great - both the food and the service. We also enjoyed a complimentary afternoon tea, which I highly recommend.

I would definitely stay here again!
