“Wonderful location and great service”
Reviewed October 7, 2013

The breakfast selection was good and the chef was really nice and friendly to us. We found the welcome sparkling wine and a good selection of traditional venetian biscuits in our room which was a great surprise. It was a great location that is near St Marco Square. We loved this hotel very much.

This hotel is quite lovely, in an area that isn't too far from major tourist sites. Our standard room was just that, but we were never there, so it was fine. Breakfast was fine as well. Staff did their jobs adequately, nothing to really rave about or complain about. All-in-all, a nice place to stay in a city we can't wait to visit again.

Room Tip: The shower/tub in room #3 is tricky to get in and out of, and would be really difficult for elderly...

My husband and I started our honeymoon at this hotel. Since it was our first time in Venice we really didn't want to stay in a modern, commercial hotel studio, so through other Trip Advisor reviews we decided on this hotel. It was a bit difficult to find the first time, then again we're english speaking tourists in Italy, but once we found it we were quite pleased. It was truly Venetian! It's actually very close to the vaporetto station. We stayed in the junior suite with a gorgeous murano glass chandelier and a huge bed. The breakfast was great and included made to order crepes (which I had everyday). The staff were all friendly and spoke some English.

We loved Venice. The Cicchetti tour from Urban Adventure is a must!!!! So too, the Doge's Palace Secret Itinerary tour and tours of the Murano, Burano and Torcello! Can't wait to do it again and would def stay at the Palazzo Paruta again.

I will echo many of the other sentiments. This is like a pensione more than a hotel. The breakfast is generous, as is the afternoon tea; it's elegantly decorated and feels like a little piece of heaven in a somewhat tourist-chaotic city. The concierge was well informed, delightful and helpful.
The room is small. You couldn't stand straight up if you were 6'2". It is small. However, it is VERY modern and up-to-date relative to all fixtures and features. Very modern bath, door security, TV, windows, HVAC, etc. You couldn't ask for anything more - accept more room ;-). Given that Venice is just plain expensive, I would say this is good value and we would definitely return and recommend to our friends.

It's easy to see that the Palazzo Paruta was once a private home. As others have stated, it's less a commercial hotel than an elegant pensione. We had good directions for arriving (San Angelo vaporetto stop), so it was not too much of a schlep with the suitcases. The staff was courteous. Our standard room was small (with low ceilings) but fancifully furnished (padded damask walls!). Easy walk to St. Mark's and the Academia. We really enjoyed being in a quieter part of Venice that was still very convenient. The decorated-by-Mama-Corleone aspect was just not exactly my cup of tea.

Room Tip: Our room had very low ceilings, but we are short. NBA players take note.

Tiny cute hotel in a quiet but pretty good location to access Venice. Our room was pretty small and had older furniture and fixtures. AC was an issue, you could control the temp between 17 and 20 degrees C, between super cold and really cold. It was cold at night already, but the heat was not turned on which just lead to an unpleasantly cold room at night. TV has 12 channels, 5 of which were working. The bed on the other hand was pretty good, and nights were pretty quiet. The breakfast was probably the best thing in the hotel, elaborate with staff making crepe flambes, omelettes and other goodies (way above the standard Italian hotel). Haven't tried the complimentary afternoon tea. Staff were friendly and helpful.
