Lovely small hotel, centrally located and within easy access to all the tourist spots, yet tucked away so very quiet, traditional Venice style - good for couples on a romantic break. Staff very friendly and helpful, good breakfast and nice to have afternoon tea in the comfortable lounge as complementary. Also part of the package was a trip to Murano to see the glass factory and showroom with some amazing pieces - no hard sell. We loved Murano so much, we spent the whole day there, away from the crouds. Would definately stay here again.

We stayed at Palazzo Paruta for 6 nights in October 2012 for our wedding; occupying an additional 5 rooms for our family/guests. Location is good – it is less than a 5 minute walk from the S. Angelo vaparetto stop and just tucked away in a secluded corner of a nice piazza. Conveniently close to all of the tourist spots but within walking distance of some lovely secluded, less touristy, areas.

We had a lovely warm welcome from reception and, as the bride and groom, were very generously upgraded to a suite. Our room was a lovely cream suite on the first floor with a secondary seating/lounge area and bathroom and an additional upper balcony to ourselves overlooking the street behind the hotel. They had also left us a complimentary bottle of prosecco and Italian biscuits. The room was lovely and quiet (only some slight noise from the cleaners coming in and out of their cupboard next door in the morning). The room had all of the facilities you would expect (incl. in the bathroom etc.). TV and wifi signal was a bit hit and miss but if you visit Venice it’s not really a priority!

Our other guests had 5 very different rooms; two had standard doubles (one on the ground floor and another on the first) which were lovely but quite small – these did not come with tea/coffee making facilities; two had superior doubles (one on the ground floor and another on the first) which were, again, lovely and a bit more spacious; one was kindly upgraded to a gorgeous suite room (on the first floor) which was a very large room, with a picturesque balcony (with large windows) overlooking the inner courtyard, and a spacious bathroom – the only of all our rooms to contain a bath. I chose to decant to this room for my wedding preparation photos as it was also next to a decorative red lounge area (where they serve afternoon tea) which was also lovely for photos.

Unfortunately, our guests in their allocated superior double on the ground floor felt it smelt quite strongly of damp (and was, sadly, small in comparison with some of the other lovely rooms) and so asked reception for another room. Reception were happy to accommodate the change and, while they had no free rooms for the first night, were able to move the guests to a second floor room for the remaining nights. They were very good about this change request.

Due to the nature of our stay we were inevitably more demanding of reception than, probably, your regular guests, as we required multiple water taxi arrangements, restaurant bookings, keeping flowers in water, organising for bottles of prosecco to be delivered, rooms to be cleaned early for photographers, breakfast moving around rooms etc. Despite all this staff were always helpful and obliging. One quick note to add that water taxis booked via the hotel seem to cost an additional 20 euro (they said, for their service of ringing for the taxi but this may have been lost in translation). And, while reception were always welcoming and polite some were more friendly than others (one struggled with English and was quite insistent that we pay in cash on checking-out (around 100 euro) which we didn’t have so (they let us pay half on card)).

We definitely made the most of the afternoon tea served, free for guests, in the communal red lounge every afternoon. There was plenty of cake, a nespresso-like machine, and a wide choice of tea – all help yourself. We invited other guests not staying at the hotel a few times (not with the intention of abusing the free service for guests) but were quite abruptly informed that we must pay an additional 10 euro per guest (a fair amount for cake and tea but) which we were happy to pay.

Breakfast was in another nice room and the choice was fantastic: wide choice of tea, lots of cakes (freshly baked in the morning) and pastries, breads, cheeses, hams, salads, a variety of fruits, nuts, cooked foods (eggs, sausage, bacon etc.), cereals, yoghurts, and any choice of savoury or sweet crepe or omelette made to order in front of you (and, as you would expect, any choice of coffee). The breakfast staff and waiting staff were nothing but excellent and attentive (as were the cleaning staff).

The hotel and staff not only made our stay welcome but added to the success of our wedding.

Room Tip: Opt for superior doubles, rather than standard, if you can - the standard double are very small (and...

Great location for getting around. A little difficult to find at first due to all venice streets appearing the same and arrival in the dark. Accurate description and photos. Friendly and helpful staff with nothing too much trouble. Good vareity of food on offer at breakfast. Lovely room suitable for a couple of nights stay. Complimentary cake and coffee available in afternoons. Would stay there again. Hot in August so appreciated the air con in the room.

Very nice hotel, great location, 10 minutes walk from San Marco, quiet and great breakfast buffet with a chef that will make from eggs to crepes with fruits. The staff always ready to help. Easy to get there from the airport.

Had a Jr. Suite which was a large room over looking a small canal. It had a sofa couch, a table and 2 antique chairs, large washroom and 2 windows that must have been 8ft tall. Never tripped over our luggage. The staff was excellent both in service and their english. The breakfast even has a retired chef who cooks omlettes and crepes but puts out more than expected for breakfast. The only draw back is getting to the hotel during low tide, private taxi cannot drop you off at the hotel door and you have to walk about 5 minutes over 1 bridge. Bring directions with you so you don't get lost. This hotel is an easy walk to St. Mark's Square, the Rialto Bridge, the Opera and more. Would stay here again.

This hotel is beautifully decorated and very charming. Great customer service and very clean. Would highly recommend. The location was a little tricky to find, but asking a few people for help and the info provided by the hotel was great.

Venice is expensive especially with the dollar so low. It took me 2 weeks to find this plush hotel with extensive searching. The price lower than expected. It is somewhat hidden but easily accessible from two convenient water bus stops. Our room was beautiful although on the small side, but all rooms in Venice are small. The hotel layout was great with a private garden, patio and the "red" room to have afternoon tea. Breakfast was great with Juliano cooking everything from eggs to crepes Suzette as he would say, "Why not?" The staff helpful. This hotel is special.
