“My favourite place in Venice”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 5, 2013

I have so many good memories from this little wine shop. You can try a variety of excellent wines at approximately €1-2 each, and then order as many of the little cicheti it takes to soak up the wine. We always take our wine and nibbles outside and sit by the canal watching boats go by and enjoying the amazing tastes in the sunshine. The cicheti include sweet ricotta with pumpkin, raw tuna glistening with olive oil, artichoke hearts, and a variety of other delicious treats. I would recommend going in the early-late afternoon.

“Nice place but not a restaurant”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 3, 2013 via mobile

Went to cantino with my wife due to the fantastic critics read on tripadvisor. However this place can't be considered if you are hungry to have a meal, only if you wan't to skip the antipasti of your choice of restaurant to dinner.Basically
you eat small slices of bread with pates and drink glasses of wine, what is completely different from what spanish tapas bars serve you, despite only paying one euro each.In our opinion this place is overrated.

“Great snacks”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 2, 2013

My wife and I stopped here a couple of times for cichetti and a glass of wine. The place is always crowded with locals and the cichetti and wines are very good. You will need to queue. My only gripe was that the staff were a bit miserable, but it remains a great place for a cheap stand up meal.

“Excellent tapas and good wine for a very affordable price”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 30, 2013

The tapas are excellent with great variety and freshly made. The wine by the glass is also very good value for money. The panini very affordable with very good quality and also freshly made. Service could be more friendly - also it is a typical standing up place without indoor or outdoor seating

“Finger lickin' good”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 24, 2013

They serve cinchetti (1 EUR a piece) and they are delicious! On top of that, you can buy glasses of pretty good wine for 2 EUR or more. A cute, small place, but no tables of chairs. You can eat your food outside, right next to the canal which makes it even cuter. They are open from 16:30 BUT DO NOT, and I repeat, do not be impatient and eat right across the canal. The place across looks very similar, but they serve microwaved pasta and it is disgusting. We're definitely coming back to Cantinone Gia' Schiavi cuz we loved it :)
