“made my day”
Reviewed November 24, 2012 via mobile

friendliest atmosphere...lovely chatty chef lady and her husband 'Pippo' totally made sold us on the Venetians. Best & cheapest Aperol Spritz...most genuine heartfelt warm welcome and convo ever...love it. Stumbled upon this little gem by accident but it totally made our day

“Amazing Little Place”
Reviewed September 16, 2012

This place was amazing, the price compared to other restaurants was fantastic, the staff, Octavio, Fanni and particularly Linda were brilliant and aimed to please, (they were all multilingual- very impressive). We were made at home from the instant, as for the food, we could not fault it. Absolutely Loved the grilled calamari, and also the fish soup and the best tiramisu I have ever had in my life. As such we kept going back. Food was very fresh (unlike other restuarants I went to in Venice which were pricey and gave both of us food poisoning) and very well priced. Also give their homemade lemincello a try.. very nice...I would highly recommend it, 5 stars . Thank you Osteria 1518, from the Aussies T & N

“Something of an oasis”
Reviewed July 19, 2012

In summer when so many of the restaurants (and bars and gelaterie) are "over" tourists and service is efficient but grudging, try this delightful little family-run spot adjacent to the San Basilio vaporetto stop. The food is excellent and Venetian (very good seafood) and the owner and staff tremendously friendly and welcoming.

“Cute little restaurant”
Reviewed July 9, 2012

Great food, nice portions and friendly service. This little treasure should be tried by all as it definitely does not have a touristy quality to it. The tagliolini bolognese which was lovely and the tiramisue was unbelievably good. Definitely recommend.

This restaurant is certainly hidden away, but the service was great and the seafood was amazing.
