“Good value in Venice”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 4, 2012

We stayed in a superior room which was nicely furnished. The only small issues were some stains on the curtains and the two rain shower heads were clogged with deposits.

A continental buffet breakfast was included; a small buffet with a nice selection of foods. This was prepared by the housekeeper, who also did a fabulous job with the guest room every day.

The Abbazia Deluxe is located close to the the railway station Venezia Santa Lucia but is separate from the Abbazia Hotel. The rooms are located up a flight of stairs but staff from the Abbazia Hotel carried our suitcases for us.

We found staying near the train station very beneficial as we didn't have far to walk with luggage in tow. Venice itself is a very walkable city and we enjoyed meandering through the streets and returning back to base at the Abbazia every night.

We stayed at this hotel before our cruise from venice for 2 nights and had a super time. The hotel is a two minute walk from the main train station and a five minute walk from the central bus station over the calatrava bridge (beware of the roma gypsies offering to carry your bags across!) The room is an annex of the Abbazia hotel next door. There is only a receptionist during daytime 8-5 but you can go next door to the abbazia reception to check in. we got a room upgrade to the suite that overlooks the grand canal and local footbridge. The room was large and spacious and had a lovely bath in the living area. the room was noisy but once you closed the blinds most of the noise was shut out. The breakfast was included in the cost and was a nice buffet. If wanting to check out early you need to settle the bill the day before. It is right in a lovely central area of Venice and you can walk to all the nearby shops and restaurants. The water bus stop is just outside. The entrance is quite steep and there is not lift so ask for help carrying bags. Not wheelchair accessible at all! We had a great time.

Room Tip: For a quiet nights sleep go for a back room. For the view over the grand canal or a romantic break a...

We stayed at Abbazia Deluxe for the first three night of our Europe vacation and really enjoyed our time there. We had a superior room that was very comfortable we were glad it had AC since the weather was very warm while we were there. Our first morning we were awoken by a mild but very noticeable shaking in our room, later to find out there was an earthquake in the north center part of Italy but did not do damage to the Venice area. Even though the hotel was located in a busy area near the rail station our room was quite at night allowing us to relax and rest up from the trip from the US and be ready to the next part of our journey. The breakfast offer was very good the staff was very kind and accommodating. We would highly recommend stay at Abbazia Deluxe if you a planning a trip to Venice.

This very small hotel with larger hotel convenience is steps away from the Ferrovia vaparetto stop and the Santa Lucia train station. It was easy to find and couldn't have met our needs better. Giulia handled everything for us with efficiency and a smile that can light up a room. Our room (602) was large and well appointed as well as beautiful. There's no beautiful view from the room, but this city is one beautiful view after another....just walk outside. The only noise were the church bells ringing....no street noise at all. We slept soundly in a comfortable bed. This is Venice...don't expect washcloths or hot breakfast...it's just not done in Italy. We enjoy experiencing a culture as it is, not as our's is.....and this is it. Thanks to Giulia and the staff at Abbazia Deluxe for making our stay in your fair city so memorable!

If you're staying in Venice for more than 2 nights, it's better to get a more centrally located hotel but for one night and arriving/leaving by train, Abbazia Deluxe can't be beat. There are two Abbazia: the regular and the deluxe. These are the two closest hotels from the train station and if you don't know where they are, you may walk past them (like we did).

Like many Venice hotels, Abbazia Deluxe doesn't have elevator and the reception area is on the second floor. The Lady Giulia helped us carry some of our luggage. Despite being 10 in the morning, our room was ready and fortunately, it was on the second floor so we didn't have to drag our bags through more stairs. Our room had a canal view and it was beautiful, especially the next morning when people started their activities. Giulia gave us a map and told us the city had not changed since the last time we were there 10 years ago.

Upon check out, the gentleman working on reception was not as friendly as Giulia (he was not rude but rather kept to himself). We actually enjoyed the breakfast. They were prepared in the lobby but no chef on duty so the only eggs available were hard boiled egg which is actually our favorite type of egg.

Overall, it was a pleasant stay but we would try something closer to the center the next time we're in Venice.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Abbazia deluxe B&B. We had a room with a grand canal view which was sensational - awesome view and a great room with all the modern conveniences you could need. The staff were very friendly and helpful. If you are travelling to Venice by train this B&B is in a perfect location - very close to the station.

Less then a 5 minute walk from the Train Station. Right on the Grand Canal. Our room over looked the Grand Canal but we never heard any noise during our stay.

The room was awesome !!! My wife loved it We stayed in the Grand Canal view Suite.

Definitely stay here !!
