San Luca is very well located, near to San Marco and to Rialto, but still neither noisy nor too crowded, as it is on a narrow side street. The buffet breakfast is excellent, although sometimes the tables are not sufficient if many people arrive at the same time. Rooms are nice, bathroomes excellent and well furnished. the staff is extremely heplful

Entrance , stairs (no elevator) and the first floor front desk look much worse than the rooms, that are a nice surprise. Friendly personnell, reasonable price by Venetian standards. Very good location.

We stayed in the annexes, another set of their apartments closer to piazza San Marco and only a 5 minute walk from their main hotel/reception and breakfast room. The location was fantastic, on a canal and so close to St Marks Square. Would definately stay here again, staff were so nice, breakfast was fantastic and situated in a very nice part of Venice!

We stayed at the Hotel San Luca for two nights in July. As others have mentioned, if you want to be close to the San Marco attractions as well as alot (and I mean ALOT) of stores, the hotel is in a great location.

We stayed in a triple room in the main hotel rather than the annex. The room was not huge (about 225-250 square feet) but it was very clean and nicely furnished, with the basic amenities (22" flat screen TV, mini-bar/fridge). The bathroom was extremely clean - it did have a sliding door with opaque glass on it, so privacy was a bit of an issue.

As others have mentioned, getting a reliable wifi signal was an issue - we took our laptops down the hall to the breakfast room in order to get a stronger signal. The breakfast room was small (about 100 square feet with about 4-6 small tables) and the breakfast offerings were the same as we experienced in Rome and Florence (continental breakfast with cappucinos, milk, cereal, juices, yogurt, pastries, Nutella).

Overall, if you want to stay in the San Marco area, this hotel is a good choice.

We stayed in the "annexe", which is another set of apartments called Casa Dolce a few mintes away from Hotel San Luca but right above a canal. Our room was good-sized, had a balcony and it was superb. Renovated with a chandalier to die for with Murano glass features, the apartment was not your usual hotel stay. But being so different, it made the stay just that more memorable.

We had to walk the few minutes every morning for breakfast back to San Luca, but this was part of the journey. In fac, getting around the streets of Venice is in itself an adventure. The hotel itself is boutique but everyone seemed to be happy. The breakfast room was quite small, but the food was really good, the selections were ample and the service was good. Coffee was freshly made for you and not limited to a cup of airline quality brewed coffee.

Francesca and her team were keen to assist with any enquiries and helped us with a water taxi from our cana address direct to the area adjacent to the seaport for our following cruise.

We recommend apartment 1 in Casa Dolce to anyne wanting somethng a little different whe visiting Venice.

Room Tip: Try for the annexe - Casa Dolce - room 1

Hotel was fine and more than satisfactory(but do not stay in the dark and dungy Annex). Service, room, breakfast more than satisfactory. On one hand the location is close to things-on the other hand this makes it noisy. The whole San Marco location was just teeming with tourists in May-enjoyed taking the Vaporetto and going to quieter areas. Venice is a bit overwhelming at first.

Room Tip: Only stay in regular Hotel, not the Annex.

The location of this hotel is great and the rooms are OK. Apart from that the hotel offers no value for money. The breakfast was very poor.
