“One night in heaven”
Reviewed January 24, 2014

We were only able to stay one night, but so wish it could have been longer. It's a small boutique Inn, tucked away on the end of a quiet street, on a canal. After reading repeated reviews about how confusing Venice is to navigate, I was worried about finding the Inn. My worry was needless; the directions provided on the Inn's website are perfect and led us straight to the door. We loved the location, loved our spotless, very quiet room, and LOVED the little deck off the dining room - which I immediately claimed at breakfast! Breakfast selections were lovely...and to be able to eat outside while the Venetian morning activities unfolded around us was AMAZING! We adored Venice and plan to return - and stay at the Alla Vite again!

Room Tip: Our room was a Double without canal view. It was a room at the end of the hall, with the gold bed l...

We stayed at the Alla Vita Dorata for three nights at the end of November and were delighted with every aspect of our stay. The location is superb and we found the staff to be extremely welcoming, helpful and determined to make our visit as pleasant as possible. This lovely boutique hideaway is excellent value for money and is highly recommended.

Aleksandra was so nice. She even provided gluten free food for our daughter. Our room looked out onto a working canal. Very quiet area of Venice. Short walk to the Grand Canal and the vaporetto which took us everywhere.

The room was tiny but I think that is on par with most rooms in Venice. It was very clean and we had a lovely view of the canal. We saw several gondolas go by. Alexandra was very helpful and kind as was her staff. The breakfast room was cute and the breakfast was filling. The location is good and we were able to find the hotel easily with their instructions.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a canal view!

Venice was our last stop on a two-week tour of Italy. After the luxury of all the other bed and breakfasts we stayed at, we could almost not believe that we could be that lucky that our last B&B could be just as wonderful (if not even more luxurious). Yet again, we could not believe our luck (or was it great planning as a result of trip advisor's awesome reviews?). We followed Alexandra's directions on how to reach Alla Vite Dorata and managed to do so quite easily after getting off the waterbus (this is quite tricky with big suitcases). We also noted that other guests at the B&B had taken a taxi from the airport directly to the B&B (literally into the B&B) which costs about €120 (very costly if you consider that waterbus fare ranges betwee €7 and €15 per person). Alexandra's son (Nico) was there to receive us and show us around the B&B. Our breaths were blown away by the beautiful interior and attention to detail (exactly what you would expect in Venice). It was almost too good to be true.

The triple room is quite big with a window onto the canal. It is quite entertaining to just sit on the double bed and experience life on the canal. The third bed (a wireframe bed) is really comfy. Breakfast at Alla Vite Dorata was an experience in itself. We managed to get to the dining room early enough on our second morning to get the table on the canal (try to do this, even if you prefer to sleep in, it will definitely be worth getting up a few minutes earlier). Alexandra's help is a bustling, tiny lady who makes it her duty to ensure that you are comfortable and have everything you need (from hot chocolate croissants to steaming cups of cappuccino).

Alla Vite Dorata is also really close to a few restaurants and a supermarket should you need anything (it also stays open late). We tried a pizza place close by as well as a restaurant close to one of the waterbus stops (the one going to the airport). It was quite expensive to eat out, but we were never disappointed. Unfortunately, you cannot always say the same for the bars. We enjoyed the pub-like coffee shops much more than some of the busy cafes.

If I ever get the opportunity to go to Venice again, I would without a doubt stay at Alla Vite Dorata.
