We went to this restaurant on a recommendation by our hotel. It is a little off the beaten path, but worth finding. The restaurant was very full and the tables are close together (as it is in most Venetian restaurants). The waitress was so helpful and patient in explaining the differences between various dishes. I had the pasta with scampi and I decided to rename the dish scampi with pasta because the seafood was so plentiful. It was served in a big crab shell and was very yummy. I couldn't finish it, there was so much food on my plate. My husband had the pasta with squid in it's own ink, and was amazed at the depth of flavour of this local favourite. There is nothing pretentious or lavish about this place, it was simply great food at a decent price, served by very friendly people. I would love to eat there again.

Went to this restraunt on 4-6-14, great little hideaway, hard to find but worth the hunt. I've been a number of times to this one over the past 10 years and the food and service is still the same.
One down fall is the mobile phones do not work there, but they do offer free wifi to compensate.
I had their gnocchi with prawns and rocket, great dish with loads of flavour. I followed this with grilled sea bass and asparagus which were both cooked to perfection. Their seafood is exposed in the front window showcasing the days fare.
Wine prices are reasonable considering your in Venice.
There is a small cover charge of euro 3.50, but their adequate pricing makes up for it.
Great atmosphere worth visiting if you can find it.

This restaurant was a recommandation from our hotel as being close by. A group occupied the ground floor and we were guided by a friendly waitress to the first floor dinning room. Bland decoration, uncomfortable chairs. Menu is available in most languages. Our party of 2 ordered 2 pasta dishes, 2 fish filets with different vegetables, 1 bottle of wine and 1 of water, for a total of over Euro 140.00. Honestly, you can get better food even in Venice for a decent price. I would not recommend this place at all, even though pasta and fish were good the overall impression is poor.
The good: Pasta with shrips: cooked al dente and tasty. Fish filets: both tasty and OK.
The bad: Pasta with crab meet: very nice presentation, pasta overcooked and crab meet was only crumbles, sauce undefinable.
The ugly 1: Vegetables: terrible to say the least - carrotts overcocked, spinach served just out of the water, moreover it was not fresh leafy spinach but freezed one, oven patatotes luke warm and dry.
The ugly 2: Wine: poor.
The ugly 3: Service: fair.

Our hotel recommended this place and we would definitely not go back. After enjoying so many beautiful, delicious restaurants in Italy with our family, this was not in keeping with our expectations. It feels cafeteria-like, with flourescent-like bright lights hanging all over the place...nothing like the candle-lit, warm atmosphere of most places in Venice. There were plenty of waiters but no one came to our table for a long time, not even to offer us water. The wine we ordered was off - tasted like cough medicine, so we sent it back and ordered a different bottle which was okay but not what we'd been used to getting in Venice. The food was heavy and very, very bland. I don't like writing negative reviews and was going to write nothing at all, except for one thing they did that pushed us over the edge: they charged us for the bottle of wine we sent back!
