Stumbled into this place late one afternoon as many others were closed. The menu is typical Venice tourist fare - a broad selection although I question how fresh everything is. We had the crab and pasta and veal Milanese. Entrees were better than average but nothing to rave about.

The restaurant had two large tour groups come through. Ad it seemed that they were just slinging the food to these guests.

That said, the food wasn't terrible but would most likely not return.

My wife and I went there with our group of tourists. We were told that a complex dinner would cost 30 euro each. First thing I didn't like is that there were no prices in the menu. Secondly we ordered one set of food instead of two but getting a bill I saw 40 euros instead of 30. The head of personnel who had been speaking our native language before we made our order, suddenly pretended not to. So, its up to you to decide if you can live with such attitude

We're sorry to hear that you didn't enjoyed your meal at our restaurant. About your complain on the missing prices, we'd like to clarify that uou havent' found any price next to the dishes because you have been given one of the touristic menus we offer to our clients, on which you can freely choose a first course, a second course, a side dish and a dessert for a fixed price, that is 14 Euros, 18,50 Euros or 23,50 Euros per person depending on the kind of menu you choose, and the price doesn't include beverage (that's why you have received a wine list together with the menus). On our "a la carte" menu every price is reported.

We have a great local Venitian restaurant here in Brisbane operated by the cousin of the owners of alla Scala. Naturally we had to visist and the food was excellent. Not too touristy for Venice, and well priced for great quality seafood. It is difficult to find the first time, is close to the Rialto Bridge but tucked away in a little Piazza. Have seen reviews that it is pricey but we had two courses for two as well as a nice wine for about 70 euros so comes down to what you order. Service was attentive, serves were generous. Try the mussels which in hindsight as an entree (1st course or starter to Americans) and share for two or three people easy. I had the whole grilled sea bass which was excellent as a main for about 25 euros. Sat next to a nice US couple that come here regularly. Was one of the better dinners in Venice.
